Telvanni Robes?

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 9:53 am

360 gets screwed in that respect, I really do wonder why they would not add unenchanted robes. It really does not have much of a ryhme or reason to me to be honest. Why not add them?

You can enchant normal clothing, which is in essence the same as robes. Also, you can find an unenchanted College Robe (the green one with yellow detail) at the clothing store in Solitude. Just seems like Bethesda forgot to include the others.

I do agree with you, though. Having the otehr robes(and matching hoods) blank so we could add our own enchantments on them would've been ideal.

What about them? They're unenchanted? Your point? They aren't Telvanni Robes now are they? Maybe you like being forced into an enchant, but I don't especially since it doesn't make sense when the enchanting skill is in the mage tree why would you have all the clothing that mages would wear (hoods and robes) pre enchanted?

The issue seems to be not so much that there are no unenchanted Telvanni robes, rather, that you have some misconception about mages and the enchanting skill.

Actually it's exactly that, along with the other mage college robes. (Adept, Apprentice, Master, ect) The enchanting skill is under the Mage skill tree there for you'd think most robes would be unenchanted that have an association with mages unless it were a specific Mage who enchanted the robes him/her self. At the very least we should be able to add an enchant to the existing robes if we have the perk for 2 enchants on one item. Also name them.

I rarely even play a mage anyway I just find this ridiculous obviously if your playing a Battlemage or a Spellsword you may be more inclined to wear amor, but for the traditional mage for the most part you're screwed if you like the robes from the College of Winterhold. Personally I'd just love the hoods to be enchantless because I like to name my gear (to keep it organized) and I can't do that with my Apprentice Hood.

If I'm wrong please explain.

I believe the only Telvanni Robes with 150% Magicka Regen are the ones on Neloth.
I can't find ANYONE else in the entire game with Telvanni Robes apart from Indaril or whatever her name is (from the Quest), and Neloth.
I've searched high and low covering nearly all of Solstheim, Caves and Forts. The only places I havn't searched in are the Dwemer Ruins, which I doubt I'de find any in there either.

So, this leads me to believe that, as I said earlier, that Neloth has the only pair of 150% Magicka Regen Telvanni Robes.
I know that I can just Enchant Rings and Necklaces, but I'de like the extra Boost of Magicka Regen on the robes, as all my other gear is enchanted to give me a MASSIVE resistance to Magic, added on to me being a Breton, and having various Permanent Bonus'.

It must sound like I'm only thinking of myself, but I was thinking about "Master Robes" having 150% Magicka Regen, and "Telvanni Robes" are pretty much considered Master Robes as the Telvanni Wizards are the Best master Wizards (as Neloth likes to remind his enemies). So then why are the Telvanni Robes we can aquire different from Neloths'?

I have the Necromage Perk (because I'm a Vampire Lord), and the Magicka Regen get's boosted from 75% to, If I can remember correctly, 92%.
This is a handy boost, but it's still not as good as the presumed Unobtainable ones.

Yeah, because of the Enchantment.
But, appearance wise, they are totally Different.
Otherwise it would be like me saying, all clothing with 75% Magicka Regen are the same, all Armour with 75% magicka Regen are the same. You get what I'm saying right?

I'm not having a go at you or anything, it's just from a RP standpoint, These robes are Mandatory.

What makes you so sure there's a piece/set that has that at all? There's not any way of knowing (until PC version is out) how much Neloth's robes give, and the other set is 75%. How are we to know Neloth's robes are any different? It would make far more sense for them to be exactly the same.

Hate to break it to you boy'o, but Magic Resistance caps at 85%, just like the Armor Rating cap. So that's not exactly impressive, any player can take the three perks in alteration for 30%, get another 25% from the Lord Stone which is probably the most useful Standing stone, and then another 15% from being an Agent of Mara. So that's 70% without any armor or racial enchants or perks. Add in the fact that you're a Breton, 50% magic resistance, you literally don't need Magic resistance on your armor/clothing at all.

Instructions, please? Verena is trying to level up her Destruction skills and needs all the tips she can get!

Well... there's always using fortify alchemy enchanted apparel (x 5 with falmer helm AND circlet) to make fortify enchantment potions then max out your kit that way, or if you feel mages are a little underpowered there is always the dark side of 'fortify restoration....'

beth should have thrown in a money sink, after Neloth accepts you into the house he lets you order a set of robes, hood, boots, and gloves from morrowind, the robes enchanted with 200% regen and 30% reduction in your choice of school, or just 300% regen, 100 magic n the gloves, 100 on the hood, and 50% resist shock, fire, frost on the boots. $30,000 fr the set and you need to wait two weeks in game for delivery

Sounds way over-powered. I mean, I know you can make stuff like that in the game but no vanilla items should have anything like that.

I don't know about the rest of all you, but I'd like to see the Mantle of Woe make a return.
