Do argonians realy look as bad as on the screens?
I suppose they look slightly better in game than they do on the screenshots, and there are customization options that you'd probably like, but if you dislike the general design of them, that's still there. It does take a bit getting used to.
How does the world look in motion?
I was actually very surprised by how much better it looked than what had been in the magazines. The maps (normal, specular, etc.) play a part in it, and the animation of the environment and characters does help. I wouldn't say that the game at all the highest settings (which we played at) looks better than Skyrim, but it does look good. The animation on the armor in particular was nice, and I got a kick out of the roll my character did when landing from a high jump.
Also what does the combat FEEL like? I think id be heavily annoyed by the fact that i cannot swing when i dont have anything targeted. Is there alot of moving around? Or are you standing in front of your enemy blocking and attacking?
Talking about combat is always tricky. It is definitely designed around picking your attacks, timing them to respond to the visual cues of the enemy, and moving around. You get Finesse points (more XP, ability to use special skill) for fighting well, so I did move around a lot, trying to dodge attacks, interrupt, and otherwise not get hit. However, I imagine that if you didn't care about Finesse, you could still just stand there and mash the hotkeys. The developers can't prevent such a playstyle, only discourage it. You don't have to have anything 'targeted' (by which I mean locked on to) in order to hit, it just has to be in range of the crosshair in the center of the screen.
Also what were the specific class animations like? Were they all glowy magic things or did you have some more, gadget based stuff, i heard something about a scorpion ish hookshot skill.
I played the Dragonknight up to level 8 (3 basic attacks, 3 skills, and one special skill), and it was a fair mix. The basic attacks (mapped to the mouse) are all melee. I had two additional melee skills, a smash that knocked the opponent down and that hookshot you mentioned which pulled the opponent closer. My other skill was definitely magic oriented, letting me grow
huge silver spikes out of my body. The special skill, which needs Finesse to use, was likewise magic-based, turning my skin into lava, giving me massive armor and dealing a lot of damage to the enemies around me.
Also did you get to see a few regional armors?
We saw quite a few armors. Many of Skyrim's sets seem to have been carried over wholesale, with updates to the engine. There were also additional 'generic' armors that were new - I can't really say much about those. They didn't look bad, and I thought they dealt with the restrictions on polycount well (this is probably what you mean by flatness. There's no way an MMO can have as much mesh detail in anything as Skyrim did, so most of it has to be textured on). I did see what looked like a unique Argonian armor, which was a cross between Aztec and Bronze Age Chinese, which I quite liked.
