TERA Online

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 7:54 am

So, http://tera.enmasse.com/ recently started its closed beta tests. Has anyone else been keeping an eye on this game and participating in the hype? I've been looking for a good MMORPG for a while now, and TERA has always looked promising. I pre-ordered it once the option became available, and so I have access to all of the closed beta tests. Now that I've had a chance to play, I can say I'm very pleased with how smooth the combat is, and I can't wait to see some of the end-game content.

What other Bethesda Forum-goers are playing or planning on playing TERA? :D

Combat, after seeing IGN videos, looks pretty repetitive and boring in the early levels. Hopefully in the later levels it picks up a bit; which I'm sure it will considering you'll be learning new skills.

Still, after all it's apparent shortcomings, it more than makes up for it in eye candy. :P

I've been sort of, not really, very lazily keeping my eye on it for the loli--- uhh, the skill based combat I mean. Just hoping it doesn't end up being like Aion; pretty but too grindy and PvP focused.

Not any more repetitive than most MMORPGs. Less, I'd say, unless you don't bother to avoid hits or block or anything like that.

The eye candy is one of its biggest shortcomings for me! I mean, some is good and all, but playing as a female pretty much means you're forced to be almost naked 99% of the time.

I had a level 9 Castanic female warrior going until I deleted it and made an Aman female Lancer.

You should hate the "hackers" and farmers.

I know, it's quite odd, but you can find TERA content all over in the Skyrim mod community. That is, of course, very wrong to use though.

In other news, people in the first closed beta test seem to be really enjoying the game, myself included. I was kind of expecting to be disappointed and find the game dull, but it's been a pleasant surprise. It's familiar but somehow feels fresh, which I haven't been able to get that feeling from an MMO in a very long time.

Don't search for Tera screenshots on Google images by typing in "Tera".
