Thank you makers of DawnGuard for letting us change our appe

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 2:03 am

For all who haven't found out makers DawnGuard heard us and our complaints wanting to be able to change our appearance!! You can finally do so on xbox 360 with DawnGuard... Spoiler* alert* find your way down to the Rat tunnels in Riften where you will see the Thieves Guild and your fence and you will notice a Elf sitting in the corner over the water alone you go up to her pay the $1000.00 and you can remake yourself over....... I love it i have so much money now i am happy to spend it on a new hair dew everyday hahahahahaha........... Now Skyrim let us buy these old castles like the Vampire castle and let us pay to fix them up SINCE we are the HERO'S why can't we have a Castle if we can afford to buy it? I think we need one of our own Castle DRAGON-BORN and let us find our own ppl to fill our castle with hero's, STOP MAKING US TURN INTO KILLERS/THIEVES when the main quest are done!!!! SOME OF US WANT TO STAY HERO'S!!!!!

Thank you so very much for informing the community about something we have known for as long as the DLC has been out.

By the way: you may want to take back all that butt kissing thanking your doing when you find out you are unable to change appearance as a VL.

(EDIT: Also, you may want to tone down the whole killer/thieves thing. Maven Black-Briar is watching)

I really like the plastic surgeon, I'm able to RP that my toon is aging as I go. He reached the 1 year old mark( in game ) so I've decided that he would start to show his age and will continue to do so until I decide it's time he retires
A fort would be nice but if they would just let us upgrade both the Vampire castle and the Dawnguard fort I would be more then pleased, I really like the lay out of both and I think it's a shame that we cannot make a couple changes or add a couple thing.

Yeah its a great feature, I no longer have to start over if there is something I don't like about my character looks. Which we had it sooner would have saved me some time.

Agreed, its nice to read something positive every once in a while. We have enough of all the pointless complaints.

I like the feature as well. I wish we could change our appearance as Vampires as well, but beggars can't be choosers. It just means I'll have to cure and re-contract Vampirism to change my hair or something like that. Not very efficient but I should be glad I can at least do that much. :)

I wish I would have known that they'd eventually add this feature. I started a character over ( just after release date) because I felt the war paint she had didn't really fit her .

The new appearance thing is pretty cool, but my character is a VL so kinda svcks that he's naturally going to be creepy for rest of his life, oh well. But did you say you can pay to upgrade the vampire castle???

It's good that it is in the game, but I would also like an ordinary barber that just changes hair/facial hair/dirt/war paint/makeup.

..But it's pretty awesome that they did! :D

Thanks SO MUCH for making us pay for something that was in vanilla Fallout 3 and FO:NV.

I really appreciate it, guys. That [censored] should have been shipped with the game or patched in and you bastards know it.

I am satisfied that filthy bloodsvckers do not have the luxury of undergoing plastic surgery.

I am dis satisfied that I must pay a thousand septims if I want a haircut.

I must agree, the fact that we have to cure and re-contract vampirism to even change the smallest things such as warpaint and hair is such a hassle, but I guess it's better than we have it for non-vampires than not having it at all.

While 1,000 gold does seem a bit steep for something as small as a haircut, I don't really mind. I'm sitting on mountains of gold and there's not much else to spend gold on in this game, sadly. Perhaps they could have charged you gold depending on what you changed. For example, 100 gold for changing hair, 200 gold for changing hair and color, 200 gold for changing war paint, 500 gold for changing appearance, etc, but honestly like I said it doesn't really matter much because there's not much else to spend gold on in this game.

Simply cure your vampirism, change your face, and become a vampire again. Not sure if that works for I am Dawnguard. But you can cure your vampirism and get it back as many times as you want.

It takes alot to balance out the pros and cons of being a vampire lord...

I don't think this is the reason Vamps can't use it. The dev team simply wanted to avoid having to deal with more coding and programming and getting around changing a character's vampire features and glowing eyes on the character creation, because it would take too much time away from them working on other things for the DLC. They simply added the dialogue that the flesh magic wouldn't work on undead flesh as an excuse to fall back on so that there was at least a lore-friendly reason for why the NPC simply can't change Vamp appearances. They left it out for the same reason that:

Major DLC plotline spoiler, don't open if you don't want to read a big spoiler:
Spoiler
the Snow Elves are simply recolored Altmer.

It saves time and money for Beth this way.
