Is that all 1.2 fixes?

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 4:38 am

So as you guys can all see, they have detailed what the 1.2 patch fixes, and it does fix the 2 biggest problems, namley the 360 texture issue and the ps3 lag. But does it not fix things like the Lydia marriage bug? Or the thieves guild quest line? So om so fourth

Remember this is Patch 1.2, I'm sure they will fix those bugs too, eventually, perhaps in 1.3...
Oddly enoughy, yesterday I finished the entire Guild Thieves Quest again with no problem (second time)

Dumb question, why is it that there are a lot of people that seem to be having massive game issues with this game and there are a lot of others with no game issues? Just curious. The only reason I haven't started my game is that I installed it to the HD and I am waiting for the texture issue to be resolved which I knew about before I purchased the game.

A lot of people I know are playing the game with minimal problems and none are as bad as what I have seen on here. Not saying anyone is wrong I just don't understand why there seems to be a huge difference in people that have problems vs. ones that are having no problems.

It looks like a really good patch to me, they fixed all the major game breaking issues in it, I'm sure they will get to all the little things like quest bugs next patch, you just have to understand their priorities, what should be fixed first, menus not functioning on pc or some random lever in a dungeon most people won't even see yet, cause things like not being able to properly equip weapons are serious experence destroyers preventing people from even playing the game right now, the goal is to make as many people happy as possible and there doing a good job of that so far.

I'd like Bethesda to address the issue of not being able to get rid of quest items for which the quest is impossible - for instance, I wander and collect weird stuff. I have 7 Unusual Gems (no spoilers, please - I know they go to some quest I haven't done), some kind of weird candlestick mold, and one or two other things that I cannot drop, like someone's flute. However, I am not currently doing ANY of the related quests. And, since getting lost in the Ratway and killing the thugs who attacked me for no reason, I no longer even have the Miscellaneous quest of finding an appraiser for those gems. I've probably got 5 - 8 pounds worth of random crap eating into my inventory that I would like to at least be able to put into my house.

It says the game can be properly installed onto hardrive, so they did fix the texture issue. Also projectiles fading away properly. Im sure theres more fixes, but not all were listed. Even so, grateful for what was already done.

Sigh. Lydia's marriage thing not triggering is likely such a simple little glitch in the code to fix, why couldn't they include it.

Because what seems like a small fix might not be. And even if it was, it could have massive knock on effects and create more problems. No matter how small, you need to fully test everything.

If Bethesda believed in fully testing stuff, Lydia would be marriageable. It's not like she's Random Bar Wench #4 in some tiny town, she's an NPC that every single player will meet if they even try to touch the main quest. The fact that she is the only NPC on the marriage list who is bugged is flabbergasting.

That's right. Flabbergasting.

The problem with an Elder Scrolls game is that it's almost impossible to fully test the game in a reasonable amount of time. There is so much that they'd have to look over and test multiple times because results are never going to be the same. They could do the same quest 10 times to make sure it's bug free but once the game is released, all we hear is "OMG, this game svcks, it's incomplete, Bethesda needs to care about their fans more and test the game!"

No matter how you look at it, It's more practical to have the players discover glitches because we're going to spend endless hours playing.

"Improved occasional performance issues resulting from long term play (PlayStation 3)"

Read OCCASIONAL PERORMANCE ISSUE. This to me sounds like not many people have this. Of course reading the forums here on the 360, alot of PS3 players are complaining about this. Why do I have the feeling the "Lag" issue has not been fixed yet.

Still no fix for ppl not able to sprint AT ALL whatever account/whatever they do... I am not going to play this game if it takes 45 mins to get anywhere. Also it makes the game very boring.

Everyone plays differently, doing 1 quest might affect another quest later on, anywhere at any time. For instance, I started a civil war quest but never bothered to finish it, I never expected it to stop me from talking to Ulfric Stormcloak which means I can't talk to him about the main questline.. which is a slight problem for me haha!
