The best armour for Serena?

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 12:00 am

Just wondering what you guys think is the best gear to equip Serena in terms as armour, as well as anything to improve her destruction damage as im a level 70 playing on master so her spells do next to nothing, anything i can do to improve her damage output?

I've found she favors any old helmet you give her to hold, but looks best in Glass. She wears the light armor Dawnguard guantlets and boots (which I found very ironic), but not the Royal Vamp armor (or any version thereof). She's swing a shield (if I give her one to hold), but not for long as she usually use life drain and whatever destructo staff she chooses (fire, ice, shock). As for body armor, she hasn't worn any yet, in my experience.

I gave her the Circlet of Destruction and Ring of Destruction, but haven't really noticed an upswing in power.

If you give her the Ancient Shrouded Boots, she will never give away your position again... just sayin'. ;)

I found out that, for me, she has that invincibility where no matter how hard you try, you will never hit her... (A few NPCs has this like the Headless Horseman and some others I cannot remember atm)..

Therefore, armor is not needed.

If you want to up her damage output, give her stuff that increases her magicka and magicka regen, plus lots and lots of magicka potions. NPCs are not effected by enchanments like decrease magic school cost or increase one handed damage. But according to uesp wiki they are effected by increase health/stamina/magicka enchants as well as their regen cousins. And be sure to muffle her boots. She was constantly giving away my position until I enchanted her boots.

I gave her plenty of stuff like that to increase her mackia pool and regen but her damage output is absymal. And yeah that is a problem, any idea where to get that enchanment from besides the shrouded armour?

Check with vendors every time you stop by. The muffle enchant seems to be pretty rare.

Another thought on Serana's clothing: I'll bet she would look hot in Foresworn gear. I'm going to tryi it myself.

Fortify Destruction? She always seems to use those spells, so cutting the cost would be a good approach I think.

Another option is to forego giving her any increases to her magicka so that she is forced to resort to crossbows/axes as soon as her magicka runs out. According to the wiki, she has the hack and slash perk, so give her a nice war axe.

I give her my Legendary Ebony War Axe after I made a Dragon Bone War Axe and she seems to do pretty well with it.

She looks pretty hot in the saviours hide but i find best overall is the nightingale armour from the thieves guild quest.

Serana gets knocked the [censored] out all the time, in my experience. I thought she was dead last time she got 'Hulk Smashed' by a giant. Instead of taking a knee, she just laid there, dead looking, until the fight ended.

she might be invincible but she makes some pretty poor choices, I've given her a legendary dragonbone sword but she alawys starts throwing lightning and vampire drain which has no effect on master.
Also from things I've read do followers gain benifit of enchanted gear?

I just put her in Foresworn gear. Most female followers will look hot in that, and so does Serana, but I am not sure it really fits her. Maybe Nightingale without the hood. Serana looks best with a copper and ruby circlet; goes well with her eyes and hair color.

She is like that until you complete the questline then she becomes invincible. That what happened with me.

Id love to turn her into a more melee centric fighter as magic at higher levels and higher difficulty settings svcks.

I'll have to disagree with this. Her magic is still highly useful at level 81 and Master difficulty for me.

Since we are talking about Serana, is it possible to use console commands to add perks to followers? I'm just thinking that when Dawnguard comes out for the PC we could seriously upgrade her if that is a possibility.
