I'm about a third of the way through Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood. Had never read anything of hers before. I shouldn't have waited this long. Her execution's a bit juvenile (I don't know if it's intentional, or she just tries to make it appear intentional) but I like her writing. It's simple, effective and clear.
The world's a bit sketchy, but that's because the book's not about the specifics of the future, but rather about how we could get from our world to her world. I can see that world happening. What 'bout you?
Haven't gotten far enough to talk about much else.
Tell us what you're reading!
P.S. Oryx is badass.
P.P.S. I find it really odd that she won't admit she writes science fiction. It's clearly science fiction, Marge. You're not fooling anybody.
