The collector.

Everyone has something they collect in Skyrim. Something you need too many of that really has no point, you just like having them for your own personal reasons. So what does your collection exsist or?

I collect torches. I have probably around 80. Do I need them? No! Why do I collect them? Who knows.
Another is soul gems. I have so many I can't count anymore. All my torches and soul gems are in my inventory so it makes sense my max weight limit is the highest it can be.

Oh and also I collect every piece of armor that matches hat I'm wearing. So if I'm wearing glass I collect it all no matter how much. Just in case I want different enchantments. The armor type goes in a chest though.

What's in your collection?

Books and notes. Dunno why, I intend reading the books but I have doubles of almost all of them. I also steal jewels and jewelry.

Ever since Morrowind I've been an obsessive collector of rare and valuable Dwemer artifacts.

*looks at collection of dozens of pieces of scrap metal, bowls, cups, plates, and forks*

Unfortunately I also have some strange draw to Falmer paraphernalia as well, so I always overburden myself with their armor and chitin whenever I find it.

Troll Skulls
Regular Skulls
Daedric Artifacts
Interesting Books (ones I enjoyed from previous games in the series, or unique ones, like people's journals)
Dragon Parts (Right now I'm playing as a thief/assassin yet I still hold on to every single Dragonbone I get.)
Smithing Materials (I'll never need all those iron ingots, yet I have like 90 in a chest in my house)

I don't keep this stuff in my inventory though. I always get Breezehome asap and dump it into the bedroom chest. How that thing holds 90 dragon bones, 90 dragon scales, every daedric artifact, and 209384 bits of crafting supplies I'll never know.

ditto. books and notes. every bounty, written item and note in the game. I particularly keep and put on shelves the notes from Astrid sending assassins and orders to thugs sent to drop kick me to Morrowind for stealing things or mowing over little kids who don't zig or zag quickly enough between vendors in towns.

oh, yeah... and daedric artifacts and all the claws I'm allowed to keep.

for those of you like me who collect books with intent to read them and then never take the time in game to do so...

I haven't downloaded this, either. It can be read on phone or nook, so Skyrim books can go mobile with you.

So far only a few book series (like The Real Barenziah and The Wolf Queen). I usually end up collecting daggers, helmets, skulls, gems, etc. but I just haven't got into that groove yet in Skyrim.

The books were easy since all the houses have bookcases you can use. Not all of them however have a display case for misc stuff and I've found that just laying things on a table can sometimes mess things up with the food or whatever that spawns there resets on top of it.

I wish I was a collector, unfortunately I am a hoarder. Their is not an item I do not pick up and drag off back to my (by now) overly cluttered house. I just want to have every item in the game, which is a stark contrast to me in real life, I am exceptionally tidy.

Alchemical Ingredients oh and ore. I can't pass an ore vein without mining it, or a plant without harvesting it. -.-
I'm also trying to collect full sets of various books that come in a series.

My current collections are; weapon and armour artifact collection, thieves guild bonus items collection (model ship, grey fox bust etc.), insects in jar collection, amulets of the divines, staff collection (one staff of each common model), common armour and weapons collection, book collection, dragon claw collection.

my unintentional collections however; alchemy ingrediants, hording a massive stockpile as i'm too lazy to just have a giant alchemy party. dragon bones and scales, not high enough smithing, crafting goods inc. soulgems and normal gems...so many soulgems -.-. keys, so...many...keys.

Steel arrows. Even though my Archery is maxed and I'm in my 40s, I decided early on that I'd upgrade only when I ran out of the lowest tier. Over time, I got better at shooting and killed a loooot of guards...

I also collect certain books (working on the Dance in the Fire series right now) and I have a pretty impressive stack of contracts from would-be assassins.

The only weird compulsive collection I have is a wardrobe full of hats. Anytime I break in somewhere, I always nab all the hats and leave most of the valuables. I couldn't tell you why.

I harvest or steal just about every ingredient I see. Even with a character that only has 17 alchemy at lvl 35. I figure I might want for something eventually.

I keep all my loot in Breezehome.
All the uncooked food and saltpiles in the cupboard by the fire.
All my weapons, armor and potions in the chest in the back office.
All my ingredients in the Alchemist Sachel.
All my stuff for smithing in the drawer along the back wall (ingots, ore, pelts and dragon bones/scales)
All my filled soul gems in the cabinet at the top of the stairs.
Then, the two drawers are on either side of the bed have all my jewels (left) and jewelry (right)
I don't really know how much it is all worth, but it must be well over 120K gold. I just sold, like, 3/4 of all my amethyst and made an easy 2K. I am going to be working on selling it all over the next couple days to get the Xbox achievement of "Have 100,000 gold"

I tend to hoard stuff. My house in Whiterun has a chest dedicated to all the Daedra artifacts, one chest dedicated to all the rare or skill books and then a chest with a mish-mash of everything else I want to keep (mostly unique armor sets like the Falmer and Thalmor, unique named weapons and shields, etc.).
