Well the thing is I think the PvP in ESO will probably the best part about the game, it was great in DAoC and I expect nothing less in ESO.
However ESO would have been a far better game if they had included Collision Detection into the mix right from the get go. From the get go they should have realized that massive numbers like 200 players on screen at the same time is unrealistic and a waste of time anyway because even getting 50 players per side to do the same thing at the same time in an MMO is extremely difficult to achieve and 200 is pretty much never going to happen in any MMO or multiplayer game no matter how you look at it.
So having said that Zenimax should have included Collision Detection in all aspects ESO which gives the PvE AI another layer of complexity for the player to overcome, and it also makes PvP much better then the 200 player thing could ever hoped to achieve. Large player vs player battles should be no more then 100 and 150 players at the max and the most you should ever see on your screen will be around 50 to 75 and if Zenimax can not include CD with those numbers then there is something seriously wrong with the game engine they designed for ESO.
Did they basically copy the Hero Game Engine? Because we all know that is the game engine that Zenimax used to prototype things while the ESO game engine was in development. I am unsure what took place in the decision to leave out CD but in this day and age in MMO development CD should have been part of the design from day one because without it ESO, at least to the seasoned MMO crowd and more importantly the seasoned Elder Scrolls single player crowd, ESO will seem off because of no CD right from the get go. We have moved past that in MMO design and the single player games have always had CD. So until I play it I will be worried that ESO could have been a far better game then it might turn out to be because CD was left out of the design, this has me very worried about if I will be able to stick with ESO for very long.
All ES games have had CD and without it I can't see how they have made an MMO or even Multiplayer ES game that they can say gives that Elder Scrolls game feel without CD in the mix, and I am very worried about this aspect of ESO.
