The Dovahkiins armor as featured when marketing the game

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 7:45 am

Its pretty much an iron helmet, gauntlets and boots which are all heavy armor, but then the chestpiece is studded armor which is light. It all goes together very well and looks nice. Too bad it isnt an efficient choice, as it doesnt benefit from some of the perks of light and heavy armor skill.

Is there maybe a mod that corrects this?

Is it feasible to go a whole game while wearing a combination of armor types?
I assumed the inability to get the perks which require you wear all of one type would prove to be too much of a crippling factor.

Why don't you just put looks before bonuses, I do. Full Daedric armour with a circlet of peerless illusion.

I could not help but notice the similarity with the X-shaped thing across the chest with that of He-Man's. Is it just me?

I just smith them up a to a fair armor rate (I mean fair, not overpowered) when I'm wearing low lvl armor and combinations. Works for me

No need to get defensive.
I simply asked because I was thinking of making a character that used a combination of armors.

Oh [censored] my bad foreal i thought you were flaming me, i read your comment a certain way, i feel like a [censored] now
with heavy armor the only perk i really used was the fist of steel and the very first perk, i used that perk up to its 5th lvl and light armor to its 3rd plus the lord stone gives you 50 points to your armor rating, even if wearing none and 25% magicka resistence, plus with my enchanted gear and everything smithed to legendary it turns out to be pretty good equipment I mean yeah i do have a full set of daedric armor, but i dont wear any of it, instead its the Imperial closed Helm and Imperial Guantlets (both are heavy) Fur Armor (ligh) Ancient Nordic Boots (heavy) and an Imperial Shield (heavy) and not only does my char look bad ass but he is still pretty well protected but not to the point where im 1 hit killing everything and i still need to keep a supply of health potions, just the way i like to play

Hmmm, so it keeps the challenge without becoming unplayable.
That's great to hear, totally going to start a new character tonight.
Thanks for the info!

He still looks like Dovahkiin when you use the Alt version as well (next step up without changing material) Ancient Nord replaces Iron, Scaled Horn Armor
