The X-Files 20th Anniversary.

Post » Thu Sep 12, 2013 3:22 pm

Happy anniversary X-Files. If anyone even remembers them. I never got to see the show as a kid as my parents thought it would freak me out too much, so consider it me making up for lost time by watching the series. I'm done 3 episodes of Season 1. This show is really good, has some cheesy moments though. Still great, just oozes 90's in it. Any other fans?

The opening theme still creeps me out until this day.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbBX6aEzEz8. My cousin doesn't want to admit it but he watched a few and I could see him clenching up at a few points. He is in high school, though he has never been the bravest person. My younger cousin in jr high loved the show, though I can tell he didn't find it all that scarey.

Edit

Also they love watching weird or what, so I kind of figured this show would be a good match.

Imagine walking alone & hearing the music out of the blue; it really puts your senses on a heightened alert.

True, the show's not really scary, the tv film/live action or special hit me harder because I thought it was real. Had me glued to the screen.

Yea it would a little.

Edit

I'm a little surprised to see no one here talking about this. Am I getting that old already?

Yes. You're ancient & out of touch or it could just be 2 in the morning.

Well I was expecting at least two people to have posted some fond memories by now. It's not that dead around here at 2am.

I am the biggest X-Phile around these parts. No question about it. Stop any suggestion otherwise

I still watch the show constantly, and have most of the 200 episodes memorized. (Not by design, just be default.)
I help with the last surviving X-Files website that is recognized by 20th Century Fox, and it's been running a very special (and completely exclusive) celebration for the 20th anniversary.
We personally extended a chance for the cast and creators to share their thoughts about what the show means 20 years later, and we got some great responses yesterday. They can be seen here: http://www.xfilesnews.com/index.php/xfiles-news/latest-news/329-messages-to-the-future-x-phile

(Not everyone was available to send a reply... no Mulder, Skinner, CSM, or Krycek)

XF is still alive and well.

I wish I could tell you more.......

But anyways... Top Five favourite episodes ever:
Bad Blood
Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose

Drive
Redux I & II

Jose Chung's From Outer Space

I also got to meet Gillian Anderson, Robert Patrick and Mitch Plieggi this year all at once. :D It was awesome.

I intend to watch all of them, I'll take a look at the link later when I have some more time. The last thing I need to do is go and get distracted before work.

Edit

Imagine my surprise seeing Seth Green in Episode 2 lolololol. My cousins laughed so hard. I know him best as Joker/Scott (Austin Powers)/Robot Chicken, so it was unusual to see him so young and hippie looking. Hahahah it was great though.

As you keep watching, you will recognize many young actors from the 90's that are now advlts.... Jack Black, Giovanni Ribisi, Jewel Staite, Emily Perkins, etc.
Not to mention all the great advlts too. Bruce Campbell, Bryan Cranston, Kurtwood Smith, Peter Boyle, Brad Dourif, Tony Todd, etc.

Just so you know... season 1 (and some of season 2) isn't the best, because they had no money to work with
Stick with it, soon every episode becomes a masterpiece.

I watch and love Godzilla movies, I'm okay with no budget as long as the show is good. Which it is.
