I was offered this quest when I first happened across the Orc fort at Dushnikh Yal, but at the time I turned it down thinking it would be offered later when I came back. I'm back and the dialog is the same and I think I'm going to get the quest but when I close the dialog there is no notice of the quest nor is there anything in the quest log.

If I go to another fort offering the same quest would I get better results?

I've looked and have found no mention of where these gaunlets are located but I might assume ?? that since the quest has not really been given yet that finding the gaunlets won't produce the result I'm looking for??

Can this quest be 'fixed' and start working? Xbox360! Thanks.

This happened to me as well, not really sure what caused this but it worked fine on another character.

It might work if you just go get the Forgemaster's Fingers and take them to the stronghold.

I think Malacath's quest will make Forgemaster's fingers unavailable, because you won't have to be blood kin to get inside, or if you are already an orc for the same reasons

Same thing happened to me. I tried adding the Forgemaster's Fingers to my inventory through the console but when I went back to Dushnik Yal, no one would talk to me. Eventually I happened on another quest for another Orc somewhere (clearing the gold mine near Markarth maybe?) and he made me blood kin.
