The furniture in my house disappeared.

Post » Mon May 21, 2012 2:05 am

So yesterday I bought a house in Whiterun and right before I saved and got off my Xbox, I put some things in chests and put stuff on the tables. So today when I load up my save all the furniture was gone and whatever was on the tables were now on the floor. Also walls disappeared but the doors were still there. It was like someone ransacked my house for all the furniture. It was like all the add-ons I payed for were taken away.

I reloaded an autosave when I entered the house for the first time, went outside the house and when I went back in and the furniture was gone again. I did the same thing and when I went in the house again the furniture was back but everything was on the floor.

For now I have all of my items in one chest that did not disappear when all the furniture did but before I start putting things in other chests and put items on the tables, can anyone tell me if it would happen again? Did this happen to anyone else?

Because even though the houses are really just for dumping all the crap you don't want to carry I like to decorate some of it with unique items but I don't want to do this if the furniture will constantly disappear.

And I am quite proud of that accomplishment. :celebration:

My house did the same thing. The walls were even gone. I own the same house in Whiterun and I even had glitch issues with displaying my woodcutting axe on the weapon rack. It messed up my bookcases and now plates are combined inside my books. I plan on buying another home and leaving that one to rot.

Did the furniture ever disappear again after that?

Also I was between the house in Riften and the house in Whiterun and of course I had to choose the glitchy house. Figures.

It has only done it once and it was the time I saved while sitting in a chair in my house then getting off for the night. I could literally walk through the walls.

Yeah that happened to me but once I walked back into the house everything was fine. If it doesn't happen again then I might stay in this house but then I would have to go around and pick up all of the items dropped.

Right now it looks like I accidentally dragon shouted and everything went flying.

That's what it is like in mine. I am a huge fan of books in TES games and had two bookshelves full of them. When I loaded up my game they had plates and bowls stuck in them. It's pretty messy.

Companions tend to go back to their homes after a period of time of no activity. Now, just where does the stray dog live is the question.
