First off, so excited for this.
I first found TES on a school computer in the form of daggerfall, I didn't know exactly what I was doing but I couldn't stop doing it. Since then I've savoured my time with these games and have dreamed of an mmo instalment.
I think there simply isn't enough information for me at the present to draw an opinion on weather or not they are going to nail it or leave us wanting, so I withhold my judgment.
But I do have an opinion.
The one thing that I do wonder at is their choice for character progression. I understand that this is an mmo, not a single player game and thus requires or at least hopes to inspire teamwork. So classes become a good way to separate the roles and fit players into a cohesive unit with defined jobs. But it also limits creativity in creation and will affect the ultimate uniqueness of end game Heroes.
I imagined the character progression would have went more like this:
All weapon and armours are available to all and are only increased through use (as is now) but within each skill there would lie talent trees for multiple paths of advancement. E.G:
