The game is fantastic

I got a copy both for PC and Xbox. But playing it on xbox. Not sure about these texture bugs, maybe cause I have the latest xbox with newer hardware.
But the game looks like a mix between medium and high settings on the PC. I ran it on ultra on PC and I dont notice that much difference more then shadows.

Anyway, the game is fantastic, so with the PC I have now started over 3 times.
On xbox I started a caster but heard it was a little too good, not sure about that, it was rather easy.
So, I started an Orc warrior wearing heavy armor and going dual wield. I thought I would need alot of healing from not being able to block. But......my restoration skill is used far less then when I went caster or sword and shield.
I kill things so fast its a little redicilous.
I am now just lvl 11, and have not even come away from whiterun yet. Instead I did the first mainquest, not even gone to the gray beards yet, but joined the companions and doing quests there.
Spending time skilling up smithing have taken some time too, but as a melee oriented character i must say this must be the most important skill apart from your weapon and armor.
As a matter of fact, my smithing is near 50 now while my one handed weapons is just near 45, and my heavy armor is near 40.
Being able to especially sharpen your weapons, but also create better armor then you will find at this stage is rather nice.

Eitherway, the story lines are amazing, the graphics are very nice and atomsphere is just also amazing. I have yet to encounter, although I have just spent, all in all around 15 hours with all 3 characters, not a single bug or glitch.

My only regret is that I should have possibly chosen another race and gone for light armor, since that 50% stamina regeneration, passive, from light is very nice. Less armor would just mean I need to use restoration more so its no big deal.
But going heavy armor and dual wield as orc, have proven to be very effective.
For level ups im placing all points into stamina, but 2 levels I took health but at this stage its not really that needed.

In Oblivian, there really never was a need to have more then one character due to the ease of leveling up all skills. Thats not the case in Skyrim. Here I definately see that you have multiple roads to go and you simply can not get all skills and perks in with just one character.
I was thinking to go Nord and 2h, but then again, the new thing with Skyrim is just the dual wield system, so I wanted to try it out, and im rather surprised of the survivability so far, but mainly since the damage output is so high that you seldom do take any damage. Im sure that will change later in though, I certanly do home so.
Im hoping for some fights that will be near the frenzy and panic we saw in Dark Souls.

I do recomend though that once you got a few levels, depending on what you play, you might want to go Expert difficulty.
I dont recomend Master for melee for the simple reason that many opponents will crit you, often, and as such, 1 shot you. Ok if they do massive damage but thats not the case.
Expert is rather well balanced.
But, going with standard adept is not bad and also well balanced, especially if you spend many levels to level up none combat oriented skills, in my case, smithing (which actually do increase damage output more then many more levels in my combat skills).

The game is far from Oblivian in many ways, and much better then Fallout 3, altough we see more of a fallout 3 mix in here.
I also have not had a single "killing blow", when the camera pans out, to glitch. My swords allways connect with the enemy. And its nothing like when you dual wield, and he sticks both swords into an enemy, lift them into the air, and slams them to the ground:-)

Amazing game. The best RPG I have ever encountered, and I have played all games in the TES series and others ontop.
The only one for me that comes close, although not with the same depth, but due to its combat system, is Dark Souls, another game people should not miss for anything.
Skyrim and Dark Souls is the only RPGs I can see you need and want for now.

Good luck out there and have fun.
Im going back to my companion quests, and will soon enough hook back to the main story line once again. 10 hours in on my orc I have just done around 1 hour of main story line so far:-) And I have just started.

cool story, bro.

lol, jk....

This game is great, and so far these complaints about magic/spells and UI are least of my worries.... Oblivion took much more heat, much, much more in its first couple weeks... I think people will settle in to this being one of their all time great games. Not only is it one of the most immersive games Ive played based on its quests and lore, but it is actually fun, in terms of gameplay mechanics and AI interaction... Very enjoyable all around.
