The Georgia Guidestones

Post » Mon Dec 10, 2012 7:02 pm

For those uninitiated few, these stones compose a monument of six granite slabs with inscriptions in eight foreign languages namely, English, Spanish, Swahili, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, and Russia -- along with a shorter message inscribed at the top of the structure in four ancient languages: Ancient Greek, Egyptian Hieroglyphs, Sanskrit, and Babylonian.

Apparently, no one knows for certain who funded the creation of these stones save for a pseudonym written on the stone, R.C. Christian.

Besides the very imposing size of these granite slabs, there is a much more singular appearance about them, in the inscriptions themselves:

  • Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
  • Guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity.
  • Unite humanity with a living new language.
  • Rule passion — faith — tradition — and all things with tempered reason.
  • Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
  • Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
  • Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
  • Balance personal rights with social duties.
  • Prize truth — beauty — love — seeking harmony with the infinite.
  • Be not a cancer on the earth — Leave room for nature — Leave room for nature.

So, what do all of you think about this?

Sounds like good advice to me.
So 500 million is a good number to you? lol

edit: Ok, so even if 500 million is too low of a number, and we can debate all day about the ethical way of curbing human population to such an amount or similar, but what about "guiding reproduction"?

"In June 1979, an unknown person or persons under the pseudonym R. C. Christian hired Elberton Granite Finishing Company to build the structure." That is from the wikipedia page and it cites http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/magazine/17-05/ff_guidestones?currentPage=1 article. The article then cites a book published by the company that made the slabs. From what I can tell they are basically guidelines designed to assist any confused post apocalyptic survivors that find them, which is why its written in a variety of languages.

I've read the same thing actually. Having delved deeper into the mystery, I've found some compelling similarities between the pseudonym R.C. Christian and the founder of the Rosicrucian Order named Christian Rosenkreuz. He typically used the initials C.R.C; but of course, the comparisons are simple speculation I'll admit.

Yeah, not so sure i agree with that part either, but with the current population deveploment humanity won't have enough to eat pretty soon.
