the grey beards suggest i forge my name in history, but how?

Post » Mon Oct 29, 2012 8:07 pm

This isn't a spoiler but after the completion of the MQ the main Grey Beard says i should consider how i will be remember in history which suggest my actions must play a part in that somehow. Well, by his comment i can figure that killing the Aludian or world eating worm wasn't good enough. Without going into any detail i suppose hes right cause not a single "living soul" witnessed where or how i slayed him. Now, having read much of the lore it seems the only logical next step in my dragon born's life would be becoming High King of Skyrim.

Many people would disagree and say this would violate lore. Well i would remind them that One-Eye Olaf slayed one dragon and became Jarl and then High King because of that one simple deed. Even though most of us know the shady circumstances surrounding how he achieved it, that is besides the point. The point is, I'm the Dragon Born savoir of the world and the only way i can think of going down in history in a concrete way would be becoming High King.

How else would i live up to the Grey Beards suggestion on how i could go down in History as a great man? None of the guilds can give justice to a universal popularity and important figure in history. Heck, two of the four would simply make me a murdering/thieving thug. One of the two remaining would simply make me a closet freak (werewolf) and the last would simply make me important in the small circle of mages. The way i see it after my dragon born kicks the bucket i'll be a mere footnote of sorts in the history books during the civil war. And dont get me started on being a thane, what good is that? Its just an "honorary title with a few benefits." And the only real benefit is not getting pooped by the one-time when i commit a crime, but needless to say my dragon born does not commit crimes,

Thus, its only logical that with the power i wield as dragon born, and the feats i accomplished by saving the world i deserve to be high king with a whole host of quest that comes with it to become a great and important part of history or a tyrant like Olaf. Otherwise there is nothing this game offers that would suffice the idea of becoming a great person post MQ as the grey beards suggest. Thoughts?

High King is small potatoes. Either the Dragonborn is the warlord that crushes the Aldmeri Dominion or becomes the first Emperor/Empress of a new dynasty that rules Tamriel. The latter is unlikely, but it's cool head-canon.

ya well that would be better than high king no doubt. Eitheway, we need something better than what we got and beign high king would be better than nothing even though your idea is better.

You didn't just mention the post MQ comment, but the plot itself. Probably should put post in spoiler tags. :stare:

Anyway, as Dragonborn, you're already forging/forged your place in history.

Pretty much. You're Tiber Septim's predecessor. That in itself is worthy of the history books and heresies.

Maybe in TES 6 we'll be taking down the Dominion in a 2nd great war, and you'll hear civilians saying ''the Dragonborn has sent troops to defend Cyrodiil'' or ''The Dragonborn commands all of Skyrim now, we have good allies'' this way the Dragonborn is only mentioned and it implies after this game he/she went down in history, we just never learn his/her race/ looks/ gender.
