"The Guilds Act"

Post » Wed Oct 31, 2012 2:09 pm

The Guilds Act is Imperial legislation, passed by the Potentate Versidue Shaie, legalizing guilds. It officially legalized the formation of the following guilds: Mages Guild, Tinkers Guild, Cobblers Guild, prosttutes Guild, Scribes Guild, Architects Guild, Brewers Guild, Vintners Guild, Weavers Guild, Ratcatchers Guild, Furriers Guild, Cooks Guild, Astrologers Guild, Healers Guild, Tailors Guild, Minstrals Guild, Barristers Guild, and the Syffim Guild (who were at that point known as the Fighters Guild). The Thieves Guild, due to its illicit nature, was obviously not part of The Guilds Act. However, it can be surmised that The Guilds Act was the inspiration for the structuring of the modern day Thieves Guild, at least as it was during the Third Era.
The Guilds Act became official legislation in 2E 321. It should be noted that the Fighter's Guild was actually formed before then.

Will we see these guilds in game? would be interesting to incorporate half of these into crafting systems & trainers.

No wonder the Morag Tong killed him, we put him into power and he leaves us off the list, ha!

Also, prosttutes guild. If only modern civlizations understood that legalizing and unionizing prostitution would make things so much safer and cleaner. :P

I hope all of those guilds listed have some form of presence in the game, if if they're not joinable.

I'd be pretty shocked if we didn't see guilds in the game. In fact, it would be almost unheard of for there not to be.

Mages & Fighters are in, but what about the rest? Also, currently they sound boring, grind yourself up in repetitive form. Find books? Destroy Rift rip offs called anchors? Pfft.

I don't expect every guild on that list to appear in the game. It's most important for the guilds from the single player Elder Scrolls to make an appearance and they are already confirmed, if not all of them at launch per se. That said, an MMO is the most ideal place for these smaller factions to make an appearance in the form of small quests and missions. I would not expect them to be joinable, but perhaps their will be a reputation system similar to WoW where doing their quests will result in being able to use their vendors and such.

Well we know of the fighters and mage's guild for sure, and DB and thieves guild coming after launch, but the more obscure guilds, who can say really. We'll just have to hope and see.
