On the hunt for new games again...

Post » Fri Jul 26, 2013 11:39 am

Hi everyone, I'm on the hunt for games again: Specifically FPS and or RPG/FPS. I can't lie, I like games that last forever Fallout 3, and Borderlands 1 & 2 come to mind. But I've played some fantastic games that are not that long: Half Life 2 comes to mind.

Here are the games I have played:

Fallout 3 - loved it

Fallout New Vegas - hated it

Borderland 1 and 2 - loved both

Mass Effect - tried to play it like 3 seperate times, never could get into it

I've played Dragon Age and Skyrim - enjoyed them both a lot, but they have no guns

Left4Dead 1 and 2 - fun when I co-oped

Bioshock 1 and 2 - fantastic

Bioshock Infinite - TERRIBLE

F.E.A.R. series - all fun

Did Not Like: Rage, Deus Ex, Portal series, Bulletstorm was ok, didn't like Crysis or Far Cry series.

I guess you can see I'm pretty picky, that's why I'm asking this large audience on the Bethesda Forums, because I think I'll get some good recommendations.

So that's most of them. All suggestions are appreciated, and I thank you for them. Can you think of some good games in this FPS, RPG/FPS genre?

Sorry yes, I've played it. I actually have bad memories of Far Cry, really bad, but I haven't tried Far Cry 2 or 3 because of it.

Not sure if it's up your alley, but it's a l4dish game with a skill progression and loot system.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHAQUkSh7-w. Despite what happens in that video, it's possible to do it without the police ever being alerted. It's currently in beta for anyone who has the Career Criminal Edition(You could possibly get a beta key from someone as CCE owners got a gift beta copy too). It's set for full release in August.
