The item placing is horrid.

The item placing mechanic is horrid. You cannot grab things at like say the top and stand them straight. It zooms in right at the middle of the item and wants to flip every cup piece of wood and anything sideways. The item placement is to floaty, you try to move something an inch and the item goes way over to the opposite end of where you want it. I feel Oblivion did the item placement a lot better. I hope Bethesda fixes this stupid broken mechanic...

Honestly, what you just said perfectly described Oblivion's item placement mechanic in my opinion. At least that's how I remember it in my game.

Well for me in Oblivion I could grab the tip of an item and gingerly place it and stand up any item and it would be fine. In Skyrim it is a little more touchy and not as friendly to move around any object. In this game no matter where you grab the object it always grabs it in the middle and tips everything over on its side and that is bothersome.

Another thing is you can't even rotate an item without slamming it into something. I hate item placement in this game...

I have completed most of the game and never once did I need or thought to use item placement, so personally I don't see that as a problem

Complete is a strong word for this game...

It is an issue for those that like to set aside hours for decorating our houses and display them in a way that personifies our characters. It's one of the ways I roleplay and several others on here as well. Just because you don't see it as a problem does not mean it isn't.

I noticed it too. Honestly, I think there is zero chance that they will change it because of how minor it is.

I think they might overlook it too. I just hope they do not because I spend hours and hours messing around with my houses in these games sense Morrowind. It's always been easy until now...

Decorating your house add's hours upon hours of fun, i really want to do it myself but after hearing about the item explosion bugs etc i wont bother. Hopefully the wall plaques, mannequins and weapon racks are fixed in the 1.2 update.

I have to agree I did like it in OB alot better and THAT was broken-__-

I mean its lke they made everything weigh 500 pounds with how slowly you lift it

How does this make sense?

I cut off a dude's head, I move his headless body to the river, was heavy but that was expected, I go back over to the head and it moves even slower and seems to be heavyer? WTF

I agree. Item placement actually took a step back from the older and still awful BGS titles.

I kinda liked how it was in Morrowind where once something was placed, it wouldn't move whatsoever. In Oblivion you could tweak things to your liking more by grabbing different parts to position it differently. In Skyrim, everything you pick up slowly rotates up-right. It should be left to us to decide how we want them placed.

When you finally do place them how you want, you exit and re-enter your house and it looks like it's been trashed by a bloody storm-atronach.

I love it to it allows you to showcase your characters personality.

About the explosion glitch.
Get items that was not originally in the house. Then place your items display them where ever you wish then save your game, then reload your game I've done this it stops the explosion glitch so far.

I spend dozens of hours on setting up my homes I hope Bethesda looks into this...

I liked how it was in Morrowind where nothing moved also. I also liked in Oblivion how you could tweak items how you wanted them. Skyrims system is appalling in that its a huge step back for item placement.

I want a perfect marriage of systems from Oblivion and Morrowind. I want to tweak items at the touch of a button but when me or anybody walks threw my house I do not want things flying they should be left as is.

To help with the explosion glitch see my above post. I hope they fix it tho it should not even be in the game.

You guys interior designer's ? Might be right up your alley....

Lol, you should be able to play the game the way you want, but seriously there's a lot more important Bugs/ Glitches to be sorted before this.

Fetcher.
May Azura frown on you.

My Dunmer disagrees.

Seriously it adds to the experience of roleplaying and deepens our characterizations of what we create.

I understand that, and I wouldn't begin to tell you how to play your character.

Just saying I hope the broken quests, perk effects, and other numerous glitches are a bit higher on the list of priorities.

Heck I didn't even know you could grab items and move them on the console version! I used it frequently in New Vegas just to move crap out of my way to pick up items I wanted.

I hope they fix those bugs as well but this is a big grip of mine as I have done this and invested hundreds possibly thousands of hours in looting and locating items for my house. It increases the replay significantly for me: it allows me to display who the person is I created. Freedom of choice and being who you want to be is a big part of the draw to this series for me. The house allows more freedom and it allows the personality of ny person to shine threw like how it shines threw in my real life house.

I hope they fix it, I hate it how BODYS are super heavy like lets put it on a number line

Dead Body (with head): 50% heavynes
Dead Body (without head): 50% heavyness
Head (removed from Dead Body): 75% heavyness

Ok, what the [censored]!

I mean I pick up a dead body with a head or without, seems to move the same speed, heavy but atleast I can magically life it up to my characters shoulders or eye level, now try this with the HEAD of a person and I can't even lift it past my ankles -__-

The picking up stuff is totally annoying, pick up a IRON pot and it moves easily with a tad slowness to it, but you lift it as if it was nothing, yet a decapitated head? Nooo that has to move at the speed of 20 Iron pots
