on the job injuries

What kind of on the job injuries have you had? Excluding really minor stuff like scraqes and bruises.

Couple days ago i cut my pinky finger on some glass where i work and it cut cleanly to my knuckle bone. Went to the hospital under L&I and got my cut sealed with surgical glue, although later when i was changing the bandage it popped off. It is kind of gross, i could see my exposed knuckle bone when i bent my finger. Ive been keeping my finger straight with a splint so that the wound doesn't open so that it can heal.

I've never had anything that required a trip to the hospital or time off work, but I once sprained my ankle walking down a set of steps (probably broke, it still doesn't quite work right 10 years later). Another time I nearly broke my leg due to carelessness at work.

A workmate of mine got electrocuted with 440v while trying to do some repairs in the shop. Electricity was shut off, but somehow still managed to get zapped. Another workmate of mine had his head crushed between two steel beams (head fractured all the way around). Both of these guys are still working, and lucky to still be alive. I believe it was the latter I mentioned (the first to occur) is what lead to mandatory drug testing on the job...and eventually my getting clean and sober.

I accidentally held a co-worker's knife the other way and pushed hard into RAM packaging once. Those results weren't very pretty. I also have a clotting disorder so it was very not pretty. The district HR manager was visiting our store and took me to the ER on the next block herself. I don't remember much of that drive.

I spent most of that day in the ER waiting for stitches. I also got to skip work the next day. So I only worked two hours of my fifteen hour Black Friday shift.

It was then that I realized I needed to look for another job since I thought it was totally worth it, even to today.
