The joy of Skyrim is gone, for me

Post » Fri Oct 12, 2012 3:32 am

I made the mistake of getting Skyrim for PS3. Had I known, I would have gotten it for the Xbox360.

I'm not gonna talk about the bugs or problems which I'm suffering from - they're in the PS3-forum.

I just want to say that the joy is gone. There is no entertainment in a game that does not work. It's doesn't matter that it's big, open-world, un-linear, fantastic and so forth. It lacks the most basic aspect.

And just WHAT is the most basic aspect of ANY game? It does not matter if it's an RPG or and FPS or a racing game. it does not matter it it's indie or AAA. The most basic aspect is - well being able to F-ing play it.

Skyrim (PS3) fails here. So the box-art on the PS3 version is forfeit - "Epic fantasy reborn" is not vaild, because in an epic fantasy everything works.

Thanks.

I don't understand. If you don't mind bugs, nor talk about them, what does stop you from F-ing playing it?

I know it svcks to have a ps3 when you want to play Skyrim and I really do feel sorry for you. Bethesda messed up and hopefully they will get it right next time. Be prepared to get flamed though.

Hi.

I did not say that I don't mind bugs - I actually hate them. I said that I'm not going to discuss the actual bugs in the General forum.

Well bugs are big issue indeed. They are mood killers and I wish Skyrim was released few months later. What can I say mat,e either try it on Xbox or PC, or just... Wait for new hotfix patch or so :/ Sux to be PS3 player these days.

Hi.

Yeah well I have a 360 as well, and a lot of other games to play. it's just that I was expecting Skyrim to last the entire 2012 for me, but it didn't- not because of the gameplay but for all the bugs.

Fair enough but, are the bugs what stop you from enjoying the game or some other thing? I am not provoking or flaming, really, I just didn't understand what stops you from playing, is it bugs and glitches, or some gameplaying aspect?

Hello.

Yes it's the PS3-exclusive features which make the game crash or go very slow. I understand that bugs occur on all systems but on the PS3 it's unplayable for a lot of people.

edit: So yeah, bugs and crashes took the joy out of this game for me.

I think that Bethesda should offer a free, no questions asked exchange of the PS3 version for either the PC version or the Xbox one. It's only fair a year out to acknowledge that this is a huge, and continuing issue.

Yeah, maybe they should. Maybe they can afford it. But they won't. And I won't buy the same game for another system. I will just stop playing, and it won't hurt Beth since they already have the money. But I won't buy another game from them - which won't make them lose money but prevent them from recieving.

I was going to buy Dishonored but then I took a Skyrim in the PS3.

that svcks, i'm on xbox and get frustrated with some of the bugs but i would be bananas if i was on ps3.
just out of curiosity, if you own an xbox why would you buy it on ps3? my friend has both systems and he only buys blu rays and ps3 only games for his ps3...he says ps3 svcks in many ways, namely updates take an eternity compared to xbox and playstation online svcks

Why would you continue owning a PS3 if you have an XBox?
