I was fighting in a place with high health ghosts, using two-handed destruction spells to stagger them. Right as I went to kill the last one, the kill cam went into effect..and the ghost I was about to kill stabbed me during the start of the Kill Cam animation.

WTF Skyrim.

Enemies have that as well under certain conditions when they can kill you.

It's by design.
