The longest game ever

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 10:26 am

Everybody is saying that singleplayer campaign of this game is like 15 hours long. I'm trying to play this game and to me it looks like it will be the longest singleplayer campaign ever made, like maybe 1000 hours.

there is no system specs to have a hint of what might be the problem nothing just a video showing frame per second.
Not posting any info on what system you have and driver version will not bring us anywhere soon

I"m pretty sure that's actually less than 1 fps.

I used fraps for the frames, and it was showing 1 frame/sec

The worst thing about that is that your computer is actually quite good. Amazing indeed, did they even bother to test this on a single computer before they released it? I think not. Or perhaps their one testing computer just happened to be the right specs.

It seems if you have an AMD build (CPU, Chipset and graphic cards) you can't play this game. If you have an Intel CPU, an Intel chipset and an AMD card somehow you are able to play it. This doesn't seem to be a problem with the drivers but totally a problem with the engine itself. ID can say whatever they want but they didn't care to test this game on PC. In the inquirer there was an article about Rage:

Reception of Rage has been at best mixed, with many saying the title is nothing more than a way for ID Software to show off its new game engine to potential developers while asking gamers to fork over cash for the privilege.
At this point it is not clear whether AMD or Nvidia's drivers are at fault or whether it is a game issue, but some are pinning the problems on the Tech 5 engine's ability to set graphics levels for particular hardware configurations.
Then again ID Software and John Carmack might not care. After all Rage doesn't seem to exhibit these problems on the Xbox 360. Even one of PC gaming's most famous developers seems to have moved on and optimised for consoles

*snip*

I have an Intel i7 and an Nvidia card myself (930 @ 4,1 and a 470 @ 480 speeds) so I'm guessing that's a bad combo in this game :S
It never ceases to amaze me how little developers care about computer gaming nowadays. I have a PS3 myself but... It svcks. I bought it for two games; Gran Turismo and Red Dead. Used it for a couple weeks and now it's collecting dust. Had a 360 but only used it for arcade games (lots of good ones though!) and sold it a few months later. If the new console generation doesn't come out soon, graphics (and gameplay in some cases) will remain stagnated. Most rumors place the new gen a couple years from now as well, that's just ridiculous if true.

Yes i read somewhere that next gen consoles wont be out (at least xbox 1080 or whatever it will be called) in next 3 years to come, and we all know what 3 years means in computer industry.

I have this exact same problem, where you able to fix it ?
I also have a AMD card, already installed the new rage driver and tried some tweaks nothing helped.

My system

intel e8400 3 ghz
8gb ram
4850 512mb

Its not much but should be enough to run this game.
