[BUG ] The 3 Major Legion NPCs aggro without cause.

Happened upon a very strange bug today that I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered and if anyone knows a fix for it.

I've gotten as far as clearing out Fort Hraggstad and returning to Solitude to report this. At this point you're supposed to go talk to Legate Rikke to get the next queststep and also head to the Solitude smith and get your Legion armour

Now for various reasons I didn't do this directly after talking to Tullius, but didn't come back until several hours later later (we're talking maybe having played 20 or so hours more before returning). So today I attempted to go to Legate Rikke to go to the next step. What happens is I get into Solitude without any issues, pick up the armour from the smith. Here's where it get's wierd though.

As I enter the courtyard of Castle Dour, Captain Aldis (but no other NPC) instantly becomes aggro and starts attacking me as soon as he sees me. If I enter the Castle, Legate Rikke and General Tullius respond to my presence in the same way, making the civil war questline completely broken for me.

Anyone else seen this and/or have a possible fix? I've tried loading a previous save (about 5 hours of playtime earlier) and the problem is not present, they act as they should. Can't figure out what went wrong in those 5 hours of gameplay to cause this :(

Any idea for a fix would be great, as I'd rather prefer to avoid having to reply those hours of playtime if I can :)

I'm having a similar problem with a difference NPC, Letrush I think his name is, in the Bee and Barb in Riften. As soon as he sees me, he instantly gets hostile. I've never seen spoken to the character before, it's very weird. If anyone has any ideas about why this occurs, I'm all ears!

Little bumpster.

Anyone have a solution. Is there any way to pacify the NPCs? Perhaps via some kind of console command?

Something is not writing the correct value somewhere... I am seeing MANY aggro-flips, where they should not be. Dragons, NPC's, Companions, Shops, Wild-life... anything with a pulse. (Only had three enemies try to kiss me... then I got an arrow in the knee!)

It reminds me of wabbajack maddness.. it seems my wabbajack is leaking...

Stopcombat in console usually does the trick. I've had a few rare occassions of strange aggro. You can just type stopcombat or select the NPC and type stopcombat. Both can work at times. Sometimes it doesn't work, which means a script is running that is constantly forcing the NPC to attack you. In that case you're pretty screwed.

After finishing the Stormcloaks questline, I once had the entire company of the jarl of Whiterun attack me in the Blue Palace (yes, really) because (and it took a while to figure this out) of a 40 bounty in Whiterun. The Solitude guards in turn protected me, ending up in an endless battle between guards and essential NPCs. Stopcombat didn't even fix that, I had to go to jail or pay a bounty. I needed to go to Whiterun so jail was a quick fast travel :P

Fixed it! Unfortunately stopcombat didn't work as they seemed to be stuck in a script, kept re-engaging combat with me.

What DID work though was to hit the passive guards that were standing by so they all attacked me and I got a bounty of 40. I then yielded and went to jail. Upon returning to the courtyard nobody attacked me without provocation and I can now continue the questline :D
