The Man Who Cried Wolf...

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 9:55 am

Fellow Gamers,

So I have recently started this quest for Solitude (like last night), and I know that it leads into a whole big quest regarding Potema the Wolf Queen trying to come back from the dead. I understand and am prepared for this.

My question for the community is this; Even though I am just starting it, it seems as if it is one of the better written quest lines. If you give yourself the requirement of reading the whole Wolf Queen series, it gains even more depth and meaning.

So, what do you guys think of this quest line? What was your favorite part if you had one? What was the part you liked the least?

What was your favorite character type to complete it with?

Please discuss. I'm interested to see what people thought of this small series of quests.

It was okay for a dungeon crawl, but frankly I felt there could have been a lot more to it. The Wolf Queen had a little TOO much build-up to be honest. So much that she could have been a DLC villain as opposed to, "glowing thing which resurrects zombies."

Why introduce the, "if she had been raised, she would be the rightful Empress" thing if you're not going to use it?

Yes, agreed. Too much build-up, then it ends in a whimper.

Overall, I feel a lot of the quest chains should have been much longer (two to three times), including the main quest and civil war.

I hated it... The Wolf Queen is an awesome series, I loved the books, but Potema didn't live up to my expectations. In the books she is described as being very manipulative, a woman who pulls the strings, but in the questline she became just another evil necromancer sitting in a random dungeon.

The quest had a lot of potential, she could be slowly gaining followers, have spies in courts, luring good people to the "dark side" etc. They could have made it into a longer questline, a bit similar to the Mannimarco questline from Oblivion.

The build up was certainly much, much larger than the end suggested. First, you just go and clean out the cave and you know nothing about Potema. BTW I think I liked that part the best. The summoning ceremony was pretty cool to watch. So, you think woah, there's way more to this than just some necros in a cave (or ghosts as Falk first suggests).

Now, when you return to Falk and then get summoned via courier, you think ok so there IS more to it than that.

Then Falk mentions that Potema THE WOLF QUEEN is returning, you get chills and think wow, yea way more to it. However, I also feel that the 2nd part was rather a let down. I think Potema should have appeared in a more epic surrounding.

Let me know what you thought of the quest, Uriel, once you are done with it.

the one thing that we all have to remember is that she is a ghost only.

now if the DLC has her reserected...that would better live up to the hype.
