The Marukhati Collected (Whirling Scrolls Online) Pt VII

Post » Sun Oct 28, 2012 5:51 am

Here we are again, wasting no time with the seventh installation of the scholarly pursuit of dragonfixing Tamriel as we (will soon) know it, and putting an elk on the ruby throne in the process.

With the deluge of new info that has been released there is ever more for the Marukhati to bite their nails over, primarily the revelation that the various armies of Tamriel intend to pick over the myraid factual fallacies of the Elder Scrolls themselves for crass worldly gains. These mundanes must be protected from themselves by us learned monkeys, who will have no choice but to collect the scrolls and hoard them to ourselves to make sure they are misinterpreted correctly.

Other matters of concern include the hipster-warriors calling themselves Dragon Knights and practicing Akarivi martial discipline, as well as the sun-praising Templars who appear to be confused about where they are deriving their powers from.

No, seriously, well done.

As Vivec said:

Late is the lover that comes to this by any other walking way than the fifth.
which is the number of the limit of this world.
The lover is the highest country and a series of beliefs.
He is the sacred city bereft of a double.
The uncultivated land of monsters is the rule.

Dearest Apes,

As I make my way southwards, I seem to be chancing across more events that defy comprehension. In a market place in Blacklight, I found a stall stocked high with cylindrical containers. "Elder Scrolls!" the shopkeep was heard to cry, "Bona fide dragon-pamphlets of visual impairment!" Wishing to humour him, I traded an equally shoddy amulet for one of his "scroll cases". Within was indeed a scroll, but of a particular non-elder variety. Having no need to fortify my personality, I pawned it off to a Bosmer mage a few miles down the road.

Some days later, I encountered a mob of men in matching brown robes. I do not claim to be a scholar of magical arts, but their talk of "power sources" and "martial power" was obvious rot. When they pressured me to explain my "class", I told them I was but a humble pilgrim. They immediately named seven gods I have never heard of before or since. One feels a strange empathy with a certain insane crusader of Cyrodiilic myth.

If the Marukhati still hold a monopoly on the fracturing of dragons, as they did some one or two thousand years ago, I predict their skills will be in demand soon enough.

Yours faithfully, Amnevelas Voru.

A question, do we know if some classes (as well as races) will be restricted to their factions, in order to give a certain flavour? I suppose we can't tell as the only gameplay previews have featured Ebonheart, but the Dragon Knight does seem to fit that alliance.

I agree! Monkeys applaud!

Anyway, getting on with the discussion:
Do you think we'd be able to effectively hoard the scrolls somewhere without letting the three factions take advantage of the faction-wide benefits they provide? Or do you think they'd disappear after a while and respawn somewhere else? Or will they really be items that we can actually drop?

We need to organize a system of rotation by which there will always be members of the Collective online to monitor whether any Elder Scrolls in our possession still exist and, if not, to hunt down and retrieve those that are missing.

And, possibly, given your predelictions, as many Vivec-doctrine spouting robes on street corners as, well, whattocallit, a more Mannimarcic-Camoran view.
Fair is fair, many voices are better than one.

And, fair is fair, you do do that voodoo so well.

Heretic(cough)

(All in good fun I hope you understand, I imagine us both being Dunmer shouting at each other on the steps of a temple cause of us both being Dunmer but thinking diametrically opposite things about the same phenomena.)

I think we should try to keep a list of members in this thread. If the Op feels up to putting in the OP.

Far easier said than done. I know that I'd never be able to become anything more than a casual player. MMOs take up way too much time to consider playing it seriously.

The same as the point of the guild, when it happens.

To maintain a burning enthusiasm for Lore in the face of a world that cares little for it, and to Throne a Ruby on the Elk seat.
