THE MEGA MAKE A WISH THREAD!

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 5:29 am

Okay now that Skyrim is out, and we know what we got... I thought it may be a good idea to start a thread were we can all collect our ideas and wish for future features or improvements through patches/ DLC. If everything is located in one thread, we stand a better chance of getting our ideas seen. I will try to keep this post updated with ideas if this is turns of to be popular, if this has already been done I apologize as I did not see it:

-IF YOU SEE A FEATURE OR CHANGE YOU WANT, PLEASE ADD YOUR VOTE-

RULES OF THIS THREAD:
- Please try to keep wishes small, the less words the better because it makes it easier to add.
- Please try to limit wishes to a few, if you make lots of wishes they may not get added to the list if this thread gets swamped.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*NEW FEATURES or FEATURES TO BRING BACK*
- Add a horse whistle similar to Red Dead Redemption, I'm tired of having to quick travel to find my horse.
- Add an "optional" hardcoe mode similar to New Vegas. (3 VOTES)
- 64 bit exe for PC players. (AzSteve)
- SPELL MAKING. (doctor strange) (2 VOTES)

*Gameplay Changes*
- Nerf the Vamps and redo them completely. (2 VOTES)
- The ability to PARRY with a sword so your not defenseless if your dual wielding. (KilluH!)
- When dual wielding in 3rd person, make both sheathed weapons visible [I.e. crossed swords on the back]. (YpSan) (2 VOTES)
- Make horses not charge into combat, as they get in the way. (YpSan)
- Sort out the PC controls when interacting with a container. (Epona222)
- More marriages/companions. (KentarouKawasaki)
- The ability to marry Bards. (SoNicbOoM4321)
- Improve that stats for dragon armor. (bobjim123)

*Menu or UI Modifications*
- Add a status page to the menu that shows your name, race, skills, ranks, perks in a list, and STATUS effects. (Bethy)
- The ability to turn off compass separate from turning off HUD display in options. (Connor)
- Bring back the character avatar to the inventory screen. (KilluH!)
- Add more difficulty settings or a difficulty slider. (Connor) (2 VOTES)
- Enable/Disable option for finisher moves. (trira)

PS: Will Update When I Can, Thanks!!!

64 bit executable so that we can run the entire game in memory, and so that the 4GB barrier isn't blown when we run too many mods.

More of an xbox gamer now than a PC gamer, but I feel your pain... added. :mohawk:

-- Give us console players the ability to turn the compass etc off individually! I need too be able to see my health and stamina but I would love the adventurism element that removing all this stuff would cause. But no, only the chance to turn off opoacity :brokencomputer:

A real status page like every single RPG ever

One that shows your name, race, skills ranks, perks in a list, and STATUS effects so i dont have to guess what maybe reducing my skills or attributes

I'll second the option hardcoe mode, but all I really want is that random hostility bug fixed. That's ruining the game for me because I have three quests I can't complete due to either the people I need to talk to being hostile or someone being hostile in the room where I need to talk to someone else.

EDIT: And one of those quests is Dragon Rising, a main quest piece.

I'd also like to see 6 or 7 difficulties as well but it will never happen.

I'm on about two difficulties either side of Adept or just scrapping adept and creating two new easier/harder medium version. I feel a bit limited in 5 and the jump from Adept to the one's either side feels too large.

Or another alternative would be to just bring back the slider? Why was that removed, anyone?

Added Connor. :tops:

If you would like to add your vote to something, I will try to keep track of that too... just give me time, I will update when I can. Also try to keep your wishes small in size, like one or two sentences describing what you want. Makes it easier to add. Thanks!

- Difficulty slider. (not that big of a deal, just a nitpick)
- Make finishers optional
- In game setting to change FOV
- I think that's it.
- Oh, bug fixes :P

That's up there, but I'll add your vote. :)

- Make finishers optional

Do you mean like a enable/disable in options? Otherwise this would be kind of hard for console players.

In game setting to change FOV

You can do that with the console commands on PC, and console players would never get this as it could make them game run worse or not at all.

I was considering adding a section for bugs would anyone want that?

SPELL MAKING

For the millionth time. What's it going to take, Bethesda? Almost every professional review mentions that is was a mistake to remove spell making. When are you going to start listening?

Yeah. The option to turn em on or off. They annoy me...

What? Couldn't find an ini setting for it so I assumed it was immutable. I wonder if the Oblivion command works...

A vast majority of the exploits and basically what i would call cheats came from spell making

Creating drain skill spells so that you could use novice trainers and cheap skill ups

Huge 100 point buffs for 1 second to cheat in crafting

Spell making was fun but it was so very buggy

I'll put it this way, I read a few people say that you can do it anyway, I'm playing on the Xbox and won't pick up a PC copy to later on. :P

Oh this argument again...

What is this PvP? Did someone put a gun to your head and force you to exploit the flaws in Oblivion's spell system? Oblivion's spell making had some minor bugs, that must mean a spell crafting system in Skyrim would suffer the same bugs? Where are you getting this info? Flawed logic is flawed.

The only thing that ever "came" from spell making, was a way for players to customize their magic and make it their own. What's wrong with that? It was a lot of fun and it's a damn shame it was removed. And, it was a huge part of being a mage, the only true crafting mages had.

If this was a multiplayer game I would agree, but this is your "own" game... if you choose to exploit the system then that is fine. It's not going to effect my game, it will just kill the experience for you. Same as the console commands on PC, that is no different.

With dual wield make both sheathed weapons visible in 3rd person view. I.e. two crossed sword on the back would look nice.
Horses should not charge into combat, all they do now is stand in the way and block approach to an enemy.

Sort out the PC controls when interacting with a container.

When in the container inventory, E key or LMB takes one item at a time
When in your carried items part of the inventory, R puts one item at a time into a container - E key or LMB uses or eats the item
I have to make a save before trying to put stuff in a container because it is too easy to accidentally eat ingredients instead of storing them - we should be able to use the mouse to both remove AND place items in a container. If I am interacting with a container, that means I want to either take stuff from it, or put stuff in it - there don't need to be any other results.
Putting stuff in a container is not something that should be subject to potential failure in this manner, it should be straightforward.

Oh and make it optional.

More marriages/companions. (: I know there's a lot already, but I LOVE companions, and I LOVE having a big variety of people to make my Nord's lover, and I don't want to run out of options. (Since most of them will probably end up getting eaten by dragons somewhere down the road. xD)
