The MMO ive been waiting for

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 6:01 pm

Hello everyone reading this topic. I am your geeky highschool student that wants to create games one day, but anyways I would like to discuss my reactions and ideas about the MMO i have been waiting for! All of my friends always argued that the game was going to be a fallout MMO, but I was always like nope its going to be TES and I can feel it. When it was announced i actually saw one of my subs on youtube posted a video and then I thought at first it was fake, then the gameinformer hit. Now the hard part was convincing everyone in my circle the game was real lol. Well anyways my thoughts on the game.
  • The game definatley looks awesome from the screens i've seen.
  • The Idea of public dungeons is awesome cause I used to play tons of LOTRO and they had something similar to that in a way. T
  • the guilds and story line sounds awesome and really exciting.
  • All of Tamriel sounds amazing and I can not wait to get back to my favorite place Morrowind.
Ideas for the game
  • Me and some friends thought of an idea about PVP, the Arena was awesome in Oblivion and we came up with the idea sort of like huttball from SWTOR, but not really. There is basically a huge like center in one of the cities where you can fight 1V1, compete in team matches for Blue and Yellow teams. Then players can actually go and bet their money on players and teams, plus you get to watch and root for your favorite players.
2. The next idea is for housing, I know housing was stated not going to be in the game. But, I feel it could be pretty sweet and if you let player created guilds be supported in game then I feel like you could be able to buy like Kin houses similar to LOTRO. I was thinking housing could be a lot like LOTRO in a sense.

3. Please include Balmorra, that city was the first city i found ever when I was 8 years old playing Morrowind. It captivated a child's Imagination and the city/town is special to my heart.

Post what you think and any of your ideas. I can't wait for the game and I am going to be one of the biggest devoted fans to the MMO.

I don't think the whole betting thing is such a good idea, because matches could always be a set-up between the two teams (where one team loses on purpose so that the person who bet on the team that he knew was going to win gets the money from the other guy who didn't know a thing that bet on the other team), or one team could just not try for trolling purposes or something like that.

+1 YES AND more props cause they didn't announce in 2007 like SWTOR did which made time freeze almost lol. Well I will have Ghost Recon, the DLC for Skyrim and Halo 4 to get me till next year lol.

Epic win, it's simple for me to get a new computer.

"It's simple we kill the batman!"

Wish it was but, I got a tech job at my school and in the summer I plan on getting a summer job, going to get a laptop for school and gaming Christmas of this year so that should be all set!

Gstaff, question (if you're allowed to answer it), we know development started in 2007, but did the idea ever come up earlier than that, whether at Bethesda or at a different child company?

What the-
The game looks awful!
It's NOTHING likes TES!
And even if if wasn't a TES based MMO (so it not looking like a TES would not be a problem), it would still be shadowed by better looking games like GW2 and Tera.

It would be much better if ZO first made FO MMO, learned from it's mistakes and then focused on TESO.

Just be careful with such high expectations. A friendly gamers advice. Looking forward to new info though.

It "looks nothing like TES"? I didn't know Elder Scrolls had a pre determined art style. Hmmm. Daggerfall looks nothing like TES. Hmmm.

well if a team "throws" a match it would be kinda obvious and thus they can be punished by the emperor :D

Lots of bad things could happen with anything does that mean we shouldn't do them just because someone might cheat? Ugh

But isn't the Emperor only a player with a fancy name prefix? Either way, if such betting systems were to be implemented, there would need to be policing for Fraud and etc., etc., etc.

Instead of a 1v1 match between two players, have it be a set match between guilds with a pre-determined amount of members taking part from each side. The guilds could win cash, gear, even just prestige and bragging rights. Make betting on the matches as a spectator not so much about winning massive amounts of gold (cap it at a certain amount, so you can't walk away with a hundred grand), but just watching the fight. Then, only allow the guilds to fight once every X amount of days.

Sure, you could rig a couple of matches -- but you won't win enough cash to make it worthwhile, nor would the fighters themselves win anything worth all the effort staging it would take. Make the armor you get identical to a level appropriate piece (maybe a little better), with a unique skin. It'd be something awesome to have, be able to show off that you and your guild are champions of the arena, but it wouldn't give you any massive bonus. Plus, since it'd be required that you sign up with a guild, word would eventually get out that you're rigging matches. Good bye reputation, it was nice knowing you.

Just have people enter and randomize the matches.
