Disclaimer:
I am a staunch supporter of Bethesda, and i love every one of their single player games.
That said, i am offended at this Elder Scrolls MMO which i personally feel violated every single virtue in the single player games.

The purpose of this thread is to hopefully gather the people who dislike/hate this MMO.
and consolidate them in a single place so we can let Bethesda/Zenimax know why why hate it so much.

Please contribute to this thread IF you have read the leaked GI 19 page article.
If you have not read it, please go read it to better understand why we hate it so much.

For anyone who is still clueless about what we are ranting about, please read:

The announcement of this mmorpg has caused the fear that there will no longer be anymore single player TES.

The future of this MMO can only go 2 ways.

1) It becomes so fricking successful, that Zenimax Online merges with BGS and focus full time on it.
Result = No more single player TES

2) It fails miserably and becomes f2p.
Result = Massive layoffs in Bethesda and they go back to making Single Player TES (IF the MMO doesn't bankrupt them.
Small spoiler. The GI article confirms the MMO is fully voiced. Which other MMO is fully voiced? and How Much Did it cost?
There is a very real danger of this mmo bankrupting the company.

For people who say that both MMOs and Single Player would be made are just deceiving themselves.
Yes, the MMO and Skyrim were developed together. BUT unless there is an official TES 6 announcement,
CAN YOU CONFIRM that there will STILL be a single player TES 6 now that the MMO is announced?

I don't like this game at all, but i'm smart enough to know what different studios means and that its more a gw2 clone and not a WoW clone.

Now when i heard "Oh we're making a TES Online.", all i heard was "Next well have a TES VI that will be unplayable without co-op.".

But how can you say its a gw2 clone when gw2 is not out yet?
To be honest, it looks exactly like RIFT to me. And while Rift is not a bad mmo by itself,
im truly disappointed why Zenimax chose to make this mmo just like all 99.9999999% of all clones out there.

Is the gaming industry really so out of ideas that only a wow-clone is the only way to go?

And many of us skeptics/apprehensive people are judging based off what we have read/seen through leaked images...what we know of TES games that makes TES games special and how that WILL NOT transfer to an MMO at all. But in the end...we know less than 1% of the game so we are skeptical and a little afraid. But remember, optimists are at the very least as equally as blind with their joy about a game they know just as much about.

I've read the article, and I'm not impressed. The screenshots did nothing to help either.
But I've not given up on Bethesda or ZeniMax, and I believe that this might be a good game after all. I generally don't like MMOs, nor the WoW-style gameplay with powers and "click-to-target" combat.
But, I put up with it when I layed DA:O and DA2, because those games were awesome in story, dialogue and character development. So if the game in general is good enough, I won't complain about art nor gameplay.
I'll give it a chance at least, and if it can't impress me within say, 10 hours, I give up. Simple as that.

1) Really? I can't believe I even reading this. Bethesda Game Studios has already said the Elder Scrolls Online is not there next project and that is all on Zenimax Online. Do you have any idea how game development works, find me a story were after a successful game (any game) that the company that made it put all there teams on it? I bet you can't because it would be stupid. Lets look at the FACTS, Skyrim sold over 10 million copies to retail alone, over $620 million dollars... not including digital which it was Steam's fastest selling game. WoW the number 1 MMO, only has 10 million subscribers. ESO is not likely reach close to that amount at all, considering no other MMO has. Skyrim will likley bring in close, if not more that the amount of money they will generate from an MMO. Game companies do not, NOT make a sequel to a game that sold over 10 million copies. All I can ask is, are you people crazy?

2) While an MMO would cost upwards of a few millions to produce, look how much they made on Skyrim alone... one bad game will not bankrupt them. Almost ever developer/publisher has put out at least 1 bad game that flopped that are still here to tell the story. This is again another crazy thing to say, that has nothing to support it.

Have you read the GI article?
I equate the word "Plays exactly like skyrim" to be that. Plays exactly like skyrim.
If you read the GI Article, you will know why im so pissed off.
