Am I the only one that hates Apocrypha?

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 10:34 pm

Well, when I say Apocrypha, I really mean the Seekers that dwell within. Maybe it's because I'm playing on Master but they seem to roflstomp me when there's 2 or more. Even with Spellbreaker I seem to die a lot in there. It also doesn't help that they're sometimes paired with a Lurker which is bascially a giant. Just sayin'.

But other than that, Apocrypha is pretty awesome. Good job on that one, Beth.

seekers and lurkers are some of the hardest enemies imo, pretty sure this dlc was made to be way harder than vanilla skyrim

It would seem so. Think about how many people were saying the game was too easy at higher levels. With the new DLC, it would seem the opposite is now true.

Not exactly. I can kill the stuff in there pretty easily, but it can easily kill me as well. >.>

That's how it reads though.... Anyway, I know what you mean. Seekers are badass. I'm not fussed about the Lurkers - they seem to go down easy enough.

I love the new enemies being so powerful and threatening. On master difficulty, every encounter should be a life-or-death risk.

Yeah I know ._. and they are pretty awesome. The Lurker Guardians don't go down as easy to me, though

Dodge and distance, zig zag close, whack em up, bob and weave. They're not that difficult, you just need to employ more FPS like skillz when facing them. That, or turn down the difficulty. Oh, also, with Seekers... one should be wary in Apocrypha. Bull rushing ahead is a good way to get trapped in between two of them. And they WILL surround/flank you. Go slower, and when one pops up, take him out before another appears, if you can. Also, pay attention to him. That mirror image is just as powerful, though has less HP, so it's easy to focus on it, but if you do, he'll just cast another mirror image eventually. Focus on the REAL Seeker.

A level 40 sword and board that uses Restoration and Conjuration. I have the typical OP gear e.g. Dragonplate armor, Dragonbone weapons, Konahrik, ect.

Nice. See, I struggled at most levels below 50. Gave up, and brought my overpowered level 81 Arch-Mage into the DLC. Breezed through most things till I turned the difficulty up... Challenging isn't the word! :o

That's what I was thinking of doing. Bringing in my OP assassin to breeze through it, but I wanted somewhat of a challenge and trust me, I'm getting one.

On my last visit at Apocrypha i got surrounded by 2 seekers and one Lurker in a tiny room with a pool full of tentacles so i had to avoid the spells from the seekers, the stomp from the lurker and the bash from the tentacles. Needless to say that i got killed pretty fast, but it was challenging and fun.

Oh and if you're up for a real challenge try old Karstaag.

Oh speaking of more challenging things, that one blue dragon whose name I can't spell is beginning to be a real pain in the ass &--#62;.&--#60;

Edit: I'm a huge [censored]. You're supposed to bend his will, not kill him ._. Oops lol

^^ This, their ranged attacks are slow and very easy to dodge. I haven't had any problems shooting arrows and dodging their spells until they die.

I use an enchanted (fire and shock) crossbow on seekers. They are tough creatures!

And I love them for it. I hope their other dlcs are challenging as well.
