Am I the Only One Who Thinks Bethesda Isn't Crazy Enough...

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 8:04 pm

...Not to add children of all races? I mean it's a DLC that focus on adopting and they are completely aware of the level of dissatisfaction with the SAME FACED Nord children....I don't see how they can possibly not add beast and elven children? Or am I just overconfident in Bethesda...after all they still didn't add Mounted Combat until a couple patches later (but they did add it!).

Yes you are the only one. Maybe, MAYBE Bethesda is hiding it for a grand surprise but I find that highly unlikely.

I think if there were going to have non human kids to adopt in the game they would have shown one in the trailer to build more hype with us forum dwellers.

First, I want to say that I am overjoyed that housebuilding and adoption have come to Skyrim. Because of this, an already epic game will soon be better.

Furthermore, I could understand the omission of Bosmer/Altmer kids, since both races are fairly rare in Skyrim. I could also deal with no Khajiit kids, because they are seen only in caravans, which is a harsh life. No place for kids in a caravan.

That having been said, I think that you are right about many things. Many Dunmer are permanant residents of Skyrim. They've settled down, likely married, and they should have had children. And with a rough place like the Gray Quarter, some would likely be orphans. The same is true of the Argonians on the docks, unless there is a peculiarity to the race. Maybe Argonian younglings don't develop lungs until maturity, or their smaller bodies can't retain heat well enough to endure Skyrim's icy climate. But we should know about this.

Orcs, additionally, live together in strongholds. They marry, they have kids. So where are the little orcs?

I understand, a $5 DLC won't have everything we want. But a wider range of children, and some facial randomization as well... well, it's not a bad thought, right?

Cmon guys, if beast children aren't in, its not because they are trying to piss you off. Its because making new character models cost money and they are trying to sell this DLC for 5 dollars. I think it is possible that beast children might make it in game, but I don't think you should be surprised if they don't. The more expensive this DLC is, the fewer people will buy it. So they have to make decisions of what content can and cannot be afforded, I'm quite sure the devs who professionally imagine new and fun features for the game have thought up lots of great content that can't always make it into a final product. They aren't trying to deprive you of something you want, they are trying to find the best balance of which content can be made for the pricepoint.

Yeah we need all races to have children. It's not just the Nords that reproduce.
I would really like to see mer and beast children.
