The only thing I don't like...

I don't like that once you reach a certain amount of winnings you are banned from playing the games at a casino.

It makes sense, that's what casinos do in real life.

And with high enough luck it'd be an easy infinite money source.

I guess it could be troublesome for some people but as for me...I can't play the casino games to save my life...I lost alot of caps to the Ultra Luxe in particular..

maybe we should start up a support group for New Vegas players with a gambling problem..I'd be the first to join. :spotted owl:

Yep, and if there was no cap it would be easy to abuse the casinos. I didn't try them out with my first character but I sauntered in to the Strip with my second, who has luck 10, and about an hour of blackjack later I'd been kicked out of all three casinos and had scads of cash. Minimal skill was required on my part.

I don't have a problem with the cap limit although I'm glad they fixed Primm's casino.

The latest patch made it harder to win at casinos now.

I'm down 5000 at The Tops with 6 or 7 luck.

Slots seems pretty impossible to win, I have 10 Luck and it took me a long time to get anything, excluding cherries.

Can I just say, you are awesome as well as wise good sir. I think I may join too, though I'm actually "up" at the moment - I tend to bet max in the 28 and Gommorrah on Blackjack - always nice when that pays off.. Still, I'm rich in-game anyway (in real life Im a bum however - a very hung-over bum too! XD)

Happy New Year guys!

On 6 luck slot machines seemed to pay back the caps you bet for me at least, not a huge win but evens at least.

The amount of caps you win at the casinos is a fair number imo, I have yet at that point in the game needed them for anything.

It just keeps you from getting a huge amount of caps easily. If they didn't ban you, then everyone would make a 10 luck character and make thousands easily.

I got the achievement for getting banned from all casinos in about half an hour to an hour. I have a simple method. Buy 2000 chips, save in front of the roulette table, and bet 200 (max) on 1 number each time. Never change numbers. You lose all 2000, load the save and get locked out for 1 minute, then try again. When you win, you get 7000 chips. Do that twice, and you get banned. And you've got between 12400 and 14000 caps (or the worth amount of Legion Denarius or NCR Money).

And you could always play blackjack, start out with 1 and consecutively triple your bet after each loss. As long as you double each time, you end up winning. Not much, but you still end up with more than you started. This method is much slower than saving and betting max.

I had a question about being banned... How can you turn in your chips (for each casino I stopped gambling when I was at about 9500 chips up)?

Going to the Cashier and saying 'I'd like to cash in my chips' and selecting which of the three currencies you would rather have, caps, NCR dollars, or legion coin.

I am just under the limit for each casino (200 - 500) Dont know why I never use them, but if I had got booted I would be annoyed. Besides if I wasnt allowed to gamble I wouldnt have much of an excuse to walk into the ultra lux, with a dress cane or lucky, while wearing a top hat and vera's dress (tuxedo for guys) while I have one of my followrs haul everything around like a servant. yeah due to dead money and completeing beyond the beef I have a rich snob. If it didnt weigh so damn much he would be showing off that gold too.

with a luck of 7, i slowly win at blackjack. in the real world i slowly lose. with luck at 9, i win much quicker. often getting 11 on the deal and then getting a ten pointer, also more often get 20 points on the first deal. with high luck like 9, blackjack is more tilted to the player.
