THE ONLY THING IVE NOT LIKED

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 9:05 am

It's almost impossible to set items scavenged on shelves and stuff and certain shelves are only for certain items, I hated the way you had to place items in oblivion, by picking them up like a crane and fiddle to get it to look right on a shelf, but atleast I could. Now I can't even drop an item where I want like in morrowind. You did me dirty Beth. Pleaseeeeeee do something so us people who like to decorate our houses with items everywhere can. Other than that I'm very satisfied with the game.

I agree. And then even if I *do* manage to get something set up properly, half the time when I walk through the door everything "jumps" and falls down anyway :/

It's frustrating I know im weird but one of my favorite things to do in all elderscrolls games was set up my place to display my treasures. I'm pretty upset I can't really do that now, especially with all the items in skyrim!

Being stuck on console, I really hope they put a fix to this. As it stands right now, I have to pivot each item off of another surface until I finally get it facing the right way (Which proves to be difficult because of the X and Y axis.) Then it seems like once I do get my stuff set up, I find npc's in my house knocking everything down! There should be a way to lock your doors as well :P

Yea that's one of the few things I hate aswell. I sometimes pick up a helmet for example just to put it in my house but it's frustrating not being able to rotate items or something like that.

and would it have hurt them to offer a display case to put jewels and jewelry in. I've come across offices with them. Cheap jewelry venders with them. I want one or two for my house.

For the PC users: We have the technology, we can fix this!

...or we will once the CS comes out. Just a theory, but open the console, try clicking an item once it is placed type "disable", and then "enable". Save/reload/whatever and see if the object resets it's position again or whether it stays put this time....

I tried it a few times in Oblivion (Xbox) and was disappointed almost everytime. I'd spend an hour or so getting everything just right, leave and come back and everything would just be knocked off or a skew somehow.

I know it takes a lot of work to program such things, its a great feature however and really deserves that type of attention by the Devs. "Trophies" are some of the best ways for people to really get svcked into a game and have memories of it....so there should be a agood way of displaying them.

I know I have a Steel Axe that needs some TLC and a place of its own.

I have a staff of fire that I got from killing a major sob draugr lord that deserves a spot on my mantle, since the only magic I ever use is restoration :) ughhh this depresses me.

I concur with all of this. Often times, I'd spend hours in Oblivion tweaking my abode with all my precious loot. Even learned how to effectively stock bookshelves manually. Oblivion's grab was far from perfect, but Skyrim's grab is just a kick in the face to anyone anol-retentive about the placement of stuff in their homes.

Sometimes when it doesn't work and I already put the items in place, a simple "Fus Ro Dah!" makes everything a mess but also very cozy. I like it this way, **** all that tedious fiddling.
