Is the original Deus Ex worth the money?

After finishing Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which - after OnLive finally fixed its mouse acceleration issues with - turned out to be one of the most enjoyable games I have played in a very long time, I decidedI wanted to play the original and technically sequel to Human Revolution after hearing that the original is also in many ways better. Since I purchased the Augmented Edition of the game on OnLive (for a £1 GBP thanks to its awesome introductory offer when the service first launched here in the UK), I got the original for free and have tried playing it on the service. However, the control bindings are all wrong even when I reset them to default and the lack of mod support (I'd like to try out one of the graphical overhaul mods) plus some other minor annoyances make the game not too pleasurable to play on the service. Whilst I could get it on Steam for around £6 GBP, I can also get it DRM free from GOG for around 80 pence more. Question is, what is the actual replay values of this game and is it worth around £7 pounds? Also, is the GOG version compatible with Windows 7 64-bit?
