So you don't need to press TAB to look at your Pip-Boy. It gives an added immersion factor if you got the Pip-Boy from the Pip-Boy edition.

Showing off your epic loots to your friends? I don't know perhaps you may find it easier to use your phone instead of a keybinding or button.

There are also serious uses for the pipboy app:

x) Use the global map on a second monitor/screen while exploring to always know where you are without the need to constantly open the ingame pipboy.

x) Use the local map on a second monitor/screen while building your settlement to see the objects you want to place in realtime while you are placing them. Helps enormously with lining up fences and stuff.

x) Use the pipboy app to equip apparel and see how good they look at your character without the need to leave third person view.

The official app is clumsy and even more on the PC when using an android emulator. That's why I wrote my own pipboy app especially for the PC (see first link in my signature).

It really needs a way to manually set a ip address since it has troubles just searching for your chosen platform sometimes. The smartglass app couldn't see my xbox one till I set its ip address manually.

I use it as a real time map while out exploring, also occasionally take stims from in the app.

One of the coolest things is to use the map to change direction of a vertibird you are riding gunner on, just select another destination.

You can use this to explore a bit from the air as you will get the xp and map marker added for anything you fly over.

Edit: Auto-correct fail.

Thanks everyone. I looked at it launch day and concluded the in game device was better. The mapping functions alone sound worth a revisit.

It designed for the PC. Theoretically it can also be made to run on Android, but never tried that.

I have it on my second (and third) monitor. You only need to run it in windowed mode if you have only one monitor (I still run it in windowed mode with multiple monitors because it is easier to change the focus to my second/third monitor this way, but I don't need to). Or you can use a separate PC (I also have it on my laptop next to my three monitors. I just cannot have enough monitors).

I love that PyPipBoy app!

I run it on separate laptop, though. no window swapping that way.

Awesome improvement over standard app!

I hope to see full inventory and quest info in future versions

great work!

Gotta say, that is one impressive App. Only thing it doesnt do is remind me to eat while playing Fallout 4.

What the hell is that growling? There must be a Deathclaw nearby. Nope wait, it's 6 PM and not only did I forget breakfast, but lunch and now it's time for dinner. lol

"excuse me sir I don't remember you being on the pause menu for 30 minutes, so I doubt you have eaten for awhile now"

I would use the app but I am a console peasant so I will give the phone app another try since you can use it for the map, didn't look for the map uses lol

I was doing the vertibird flying all over the map bit from the app and wondered if others have tried it, it is quite fun except for the lack of enemy visibility below (at least on ps4). Wish the vertibird to travel anywhere was docked in the airport or prydwen without need grenades in those locations.

yeah its a pretty neat app probably most people pay it no mind. Maybe they will make a GECK app for the consoles to do stuff otherwise needing more control, though I'm considering getting a PC just for that so many ideas I have.
