I remember the book was suggested to me by a friend's wife. Now it may just be my tastes, but I thought the way she wrote was just bad. I ended up putting the book down less then 30 pages in I hated it so much.
Now that I look back, I also hated the book that they just turned into a movie. Enough not to be bothered with remembering it's name or to look it up. So I may just be a picky [censored] when it comes to books.

I would say twilight (and her style in general) is worse- it's bland. To my mind, mediocrity is worse than failure.
There's a general rule among those who write, "Respect your fellow writer." But Stephenie Meyer's characters are just so cardboard...I give her respect for breaking out and having her work read literally by millions (which is more than I could ever hope for) , but I personally cannot stomach it.
