The "Prev" Gen

Post » Sat Nov 09, 2013 8:46 pm

With the Xbox One and PS4 right around the corner, the Xbox 360 and PS3 will become the new Prev Gen and the idea of this thread is to simply 'raise a glass' for what had happened over the lifetime of the Prev Gen and 'raise a glass' for what to come in the new gen; I mean, if that's alright by ya guys...

Note: I would love if the PC players keep the "PC master race" comments off as this thread is specifically for the console players, if ya don't mind.

Comments like this is just asking for trouble. Personally, I don't care who plays on what platform, but this is an open forum here, and open for all to comment, not just console owners.

As for the previous gen, while I never played either the Xbox or PS3, I recognize there were several great title (not all console exclusives) and provided many years of enjoyment for millions of users worldwide. I only wish that the makers of those consoles would shorten their lifespan a bit. 6 year old hardware really does have a way of holding back what gaming companies are able to achieve. After 6 years(?) I think all that can be squeezed out of this generation has been, I welcome the new generation even though I won't personally use either platform

Alas, I raise my Chalice up to thee, oh greatest generation of ye all. Whilst thou policies were not the best near your end, thou hath provided some of the greatest gaming memories I shall ever have. I gaze forth to ponder what the newest generation shall bring in a year, and perhaps bring forth more good memories.

RIP:

Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3

GO PS4, die in a fire Xbox One. I think that's all that needs and can be said about my opinions on the matter. This is from a PC gamer. I would rather game with gamers, than not gamers on some bid to rule the world through [censored] DRM and idiocy. So I raise a glass to you PS4'ers. To games! :foodndrink:

They're not dead yet! :)

Developers are still releasing titles only available for PS3 and Xbox 360 well into 2014, as well concurrently with PS4 and Xbox One releases.

Haha.

RIP, my Xbox 360. Your generation had some good games, but I'll still love the previous generations before you more. I'll resurrect you when Dark Souls 2 comes out though, my [censored].

Can't take a joke?

I'm not ignorant nor stupid... I know PC gamers do have thoughts on the generations and have interesting things to say. Just decided to make a little joke for once in the original post; nothing wrong with that... Right?

Hm... The older generations did has a lot of good games, I agree. But my most played and favorite games came out during the Xbox 360/PS3 generation... (Specifically Minecraft, Rock Band 3, and Skyrim {And yes, I've logged more hours in Skyrim than in Morrowind surprisingly}).

That and some of my favorite gaming moments had been in 360 games I've played.

I also would like to add for the new generation coming... I personally fear it.

I don't think there was anything wrong with what you said. Wishing for the PC gamers to keep the "PC master race comments" off this thread sounds like a reasonable thing to hope for in my opinion, seeing as it won't add to the thread in any way whatsoever.

:D

Sure... it's just that some people have a hard time telling one.

I play on PC and the Xbox. I have a decent library and even though the new stuff is coming out, I don't plan to put the old girl down. Too many good titles. I plan to enjoy them for years to come.

besides the new gen is not backwards compatible. No way to play the classics without the old gear. So it's not saying goodbye form my viewpoint.
