This time it was a Companions radiant quest.

I had to go rescue someone from some vampires and escort them back to Karstwagen. The guy's name was Atar, but I couldn't place the name from memory.

So I get to the vampire hideout and clear out the first room. I go into the next and hear fighting. Worried that my charge could be in trouble, I rush in to be the hero, only everyone is dead except Atar! He killed a master vampire, vampire thrall, and reanimated corpse by himself!

He still seemed very thankful to be rescued and insisted we get him home a soon as possible. Along the way, we encounter numerous Forsworn. This guy killed as many people as Jenassa and I did, combined! FInally, we get to Karthwasten and encounter the cutscene with the mine owner and the Silverblood mercenaries. OH! THAT'S who Atar is. He's the leader of those mercenaries. So he falls right back into place and takes over the mine.

So I go into the mine to try to get the group to leave Karthwasten, and Atar is not very receptive, even after just being "rescued". I end up having to kill him to help the mine owner.

In short. I was sent on a rescue mission to save someone who didn't need saving, only to have to turn around and kill them after doing so! Good going, Companions!
