The [italics] REAL thing TESO needs at launch

Post » Wed Oct 09, 2013 12:11 pm

Not too sure if this has been brought up lately, I was banned for the better part of several days and rightfully so. nonetheless, does ZOS have a plan for starting servers? or their ''mega'' server? will we have to face the problem of over crowded players trying to connect at once during launch? similar to GTAV's and DIII's; there were too many players trying to log on and weren't able to connect and play online right away. perhaps I am missing the correct gaming term, anyways will we be able to play/ log on right away? lets hope the TESO launch will go as smoothly as planned. one thing teso needs is working servers at launch.

No one can say how launch will go. Even their "mega" server consists of several hundred, if not thousand, servers, and players are split up among instances of the game world, so presuming they account for this and have a system in place to balance the load of connection requests, then one could assume the lauch will be smooth, but again, no one can say, not you, me, or ZOS.

No MMO launch is ever good, or online game for that matter. The best you can hope for is as smooth as possible, but its never going to be good.

Hmm. They might need power, too. And a roof. Maybe an internet connection. :stare:

No offense, but I would assume they're doing work on the blatantly obvious stuff, and Day 1 connectivity issues have been pretty well pounded into the industry's consciousness at this point. Most still don't manage it (as Carde says, good launches don't happen), but unless they're complete blithering idiots, they are aware of it, and taking steps to make it as functional as possible.
