The Realm of Hircine: The Hunting Grounds.

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 3:34 am

I noticed some people in the forums wish for a Hircine DLC concerning his Hunting Grounds months before the game itself was released. As Shivering Isles was in Sheogorath's realm visited in the Oblivion expansion, we can hope for a Hunting Grounds DLC? There seemed to be enough lore in Skyrim to set it up.

Main Quest spoilers:

Spoiler
You visit Sovngarde at the end of the Main Quest. So it's already been done.

Companions Quest Spoiler:
Spoiler
Kodlak wishes to cure his Lycanthropy due to his soul being claimed by Hircine if he does not. He wishes to go to Sovngarde as a true nord, and even admits some prefer hunting with Hircine for eternity. But will there be a quest-line regarding both of these places? "Perhaps in Sovngarde, the heroes of old can join me. The harrowing of the Hunting Grounds would be a battle of such a triumph. And perhaps someday, you shall join us in such battle."-Kodlak.

So would you like to go to his realm? Possibly join Hircine if you already are a werewolf or maybe defy him and have it more like Bloodmoon, where you fight him.

It sounds nice, but Morrowind already had a Hircine DLC, I think they should focus more on this whole Imperials vs Stormcloaks vs Thalmor thing.

It's been done in Skyrim as well. We can join the Empire or the Stormcloaks.

Hircine's Hunting Grounds were also in Battlespire. Seriously, let's visit a plane of Oblivion we haven't seen yet.

The last time I played Morrowind was when I was 14, so forgive me if I'm way off, but I thought Bloodmoon had us go to Hircine's grounds? It would just be redundant if we had to do it again. I'd like something more grand and that adds to the actual gameplay mechanics. The Morrowind expansions were the best expansions of any game I've ever played. They not only added whole new lands with huge, engaging plots, but werewolves were incorporated which completely changed gameplay whenever you slipped on the ring. I'd like to see something of that scale. Not just a rehash of the same thing.

Well, if you do the Stormcloak's story line it kind of leaves you hanging. I don't know about the Empire story line though. Never did it.

That was a pocket realm of Mehrunes Dagon. There were no werewolves, hell, Hircine didn't even make an apperance.

Yeah, I did. What does this have to do with the Hunting Grounds? Just asking. Also, I mean his realm, not the Bloodmoon, for DLC.

Nvm.

The werewolf quest line is weak enough that adding some more Hircine stuff would be welcome, but I'm not sure it would be worth a whole DLC.

No, not that I don't like Hircine, its just we've already had so much revolve around him. I am hoping for something regarding the Thalmor Dominion.

Think before you post.

It was still a part of Nirn. The Bloodmoon happens in Nirn, not the Hunting Grounds. It happens every Era in Tamriel and it just so happened to show up in the Fourth Era in that particular moment.

The Thalmor seems too mundane. But that's just my opinion. Kinds uninteresting. But I am sure many people would love to see that.

 It still did not change the fact that they are featured in the game.

I know that Twilight is a largely terrible series of books/movies, but I went to see the movie with my wife yesterday and all I could think was how cool it would be if I could be a horse-sized wolf in Skyrim. Make it happen!

Wait a minute. Have you SEEN the werewolves in Skyrim? They beat the hell out of horses. They aren't much smaller and while sprinting they move faster!

I do have to admit though that the werewolves as they are are a bit underwhelming. Sure it's pretty cool and all, but in the end it seems like most people just go werewolf so that they get 100% disease immunity. Where's my forced transformation/feeding Bethesda!?

Edit: Molag Bal's realm would seem good. Creator of vampires, Prince of sixual violation. Seems good.

I'd like to go to a Daedric Prince's realm that isn't mostly dark and depressing. Dagon's realm was all fire and brimstone, Sheogorath's realm was partially bright and colorful, but not in a good way...

Lets go to Azura's realm, Moonshadow, where she supposedly, "lives in a rose palace. It is reportedly a blindingly beautiful and colorful, with flowers, waterfalls, trees, and a city of silver."

That would be much better that going to hell-like areas...

I'd like it, but I don't think they'd do DLC for the same prince twice.

If anything, they'll pick another one.

Molag Bal perhaps? Visit his twisted version of Nirn?

Or maybe Sanguine. He seems like a nice enough fella.

I would like a dwemer related DLC, maybe explaining the dissappearence of the dwemer.
i can already imagine it, very deep in the earth where a huge, populated dwemer city stands.

and anyway, wasn't Hircine featered in a previous game?

My heart wishes to go to Azura's realm, the most beautiful place in existence, where mortals are known to cry at it's beauty.

My mind tells me the current hardware cannot pull this off. Best to leave this one for a future game i think.

Yeaah, the Dwemer would also be pretty cool.

There's SO MUCH lore and mystery surronding them to be exploited by Beth if they ever decide to bring back the Dwemer.

Imagine seeing the Kagrenac in person, or even witnessing the very event in which all of their race disappeared, perhaps through a flashback or something [there's plenty of those in Skyrim]

I'd like to see a DLC focused on the orcs looking to establish a new Orsinium, since they've been displaced by the Bretons and Redguards.
