The no save challenge

Post » Thu Feb 28, 2013 10:24 am

Start a character and go through the game without saving, no hard saves or auto saves and see how far you can get

Dead is Dead rules apply and the fallen characters names will be put here as in the DID thread

If you need to go to bed or work etc you can leave Skyrim up as long as your system is on

So this is basically a challenge to see how long you can continously play Skyrim, without a death or a break right?

Idk. Its not a good death if you just need to go to bed. I think yoou should be able to save if you need to go to bed or somthing, if you die then no reload. Or was the point of this to see how long you can continously play skyrim?

Wait, you could leave Skyrim running while you go to school/work? Just leave your toon' in a house or someplace safe? My hunger mod would probably finally kill me...

Yes
I did a character like that a long time ago (I forgot his name). He was killed by the guards in Riften after 18 hours of play. I don't remember what I did to agitate them. I took about 6 arrows to the torso, and 1 to the chin.

So for example: RIP Single-Hair-On-Chest, Argonian, Cause of Death: Legion got tired and went to bed. I'll pass.

That's just dead is dead then, it's a stamina challenge

There was a time. Not anymore. I think I did a character like this about 4 months ago. I was at a friends house and we were seeing who would last the longest.

Add length of survival too maybe.

Then just keep playing, you don't have to use that going to bed thing. Or just have your character in a house, put something that makes him move or look around (so something on the anolog sticks) and live to succeed. If that stops the shut down timer. I wouldn't know.
Edit: Or what Longago said.

My game would freeze up long before I reached my limit. It's the main reason I save as often as I do now. Skyrim is just way to unstable to depend on no saves and I don't have that much time to throw away on nothing.

Yeah, that would be a problem. I once played 28 hours on my main without saving, and it froze. I didn't play for 2 hours. Two whole hours.

This is silly. It's a regular DiD challenge, except that you never turn your computer off. The only thing you accomplish is a higher electricity bill.

DiD was already ridiculous. This takes ridiculous and Turns It Up To 11.

Seems a little extreme. Skyrim sessions of that nature rate up there with dance marathons, hot dog eating contests, and games of "Bladder Bust" (don't ask): for people of extreme passion and questionable intellect.

Even for DiD players (standard rules), periodic saving needs to be allowed, because glitches or distractions happen. If your cat jumped up into your lap and clawed the crap out of your privates, and your Level 73 character with 314 hours in got roasted by a Legendary Dragon because you were on the floor mewling in pain and clutching your mutilated "equipment"... well, I say you rate a reload. Ditto if your game crashes.
