The most interesting (so far) shows I have watched are:
Deep Space Marvels - Sam Neil hosted this, but there were only 3 episodes so I don't know what became of any future ones.
Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman - A lot of interesting theories he talks about, each with its own flaws but nevertheless good details
How the Universe Works - Probably my favorite one as its episodes are evenly divided between everything we know, and not only goes into great details but even compares the sizes of stars and galaxies to each other.
There have been some newer ones recently and I need to catch up with watching them, but I personally think I know a lot more about Astronomy than I do about Evolution. How the Universe Works does mention several things that are essential to life though, and even talks about some of the other planets and how they could have had it but how they changed in the end. And while there are unfortunately not that many science shows specific to what I watch (or at least are not really up to date), Through the Wormhole and How the Universe Works mentions enough to make me think.
What also interests me is how everything begins with Astronomy, and without what happens in space there would be no Evolution.. at least not when it came down to life on a planet. Some of the episodes have also talked about other solar systems, how there are bigger planets than what we have and how much closer they orbit to their star as well as other Earth-like planets.. but unfortunately we have no means of getting there yet. Right now the theories are just that, and we have no way of knowing if any of them would actually work. One thing Astronomy-wise that Through the Wormhole discusses is the possibility of Time Travel but many of the theories there had their flaws and one of them was whether or not the Universe rotated, which it apparently does not. If it did, we could go in the opposite way of the rotation than the way we're going now and travel to the past but obviously it would be a little more complicated than that.. interesting to say the least.
There are also other things discussed in Through the Wormhole, from there being a Sixth Sense (as if you feel like you're being watched, but nothing is there) to dimensions, an edge to the Universe and if we can travel faster than light. If we wanted to travel faster than light though, we would need warp technology and ships capable of withstanding the pressure.
So, what do you guys think about all of the complex theories of Astronomy and Evolution? Do you think that if we try hard enough we can be living in space? If so, maybe we could evolve to the point where we would not need suits to survive up there. What are all of your thoughts?
On a side note: From my short time here, I've seen people mention Religion.. and the only reason I bring it up at all is to tell anyone with religious thoughts on the matter not to voice them for the risk of getting the thread locked. If you really want to, find somewhere else to mention it as it isn't allowed here and I've seen a couple of threads locked by summer shortly after it was. Usually I spend my time in the Skyrim Forum, but being that I'm not really playing the game now I've decided to move here for a time. Let's keep it civil and free of off-limit topics.
