The Skyrim Challenge (PC ONLY)

Post » Fri Aug 10, 2012 3:44 am

Alright so I've finally moded Skyrim's difficulty to how I feel it should be and it makes fighting, even with the most broken equipment a terrible, terrible challenge.
  • Locational Damage-gives criticals and different effects based on where your attacks land, enemies can do the same to you.
  • More Dynamic Injuries-Everyone suffers from broken bones, bleeding, frostbite, etc. Spells can only heal you so much and you must seek emdical attention for large wounds fast or you will die.
  • ASIS-Enemy AI uses potions and the amout of enemies that spawn has been vastly improved
  • Ultimate Follower Overhaul-lets followers level and increases the number of followers you can have (don't get anymore then 5, it's really lame running around with 15 lvl 81 characters and clogs doorways)
  • Deadly Dragons-more dragon types with more shouts, higher lvls, etc
Now you have the ultimate Skyrim experience at your disposal, combat is now brutal...the wilderness is no longer forgiving and you can have multiple followers, making the increased spawns more manageable without lowering the difficulty.

P.S. Skyrim is now populated if you did this right, I frequently see realistic amounts of wildlife.

I don't understand this...is this a mod you made or are you challenging other players to mod their games to do this or what?

It's the ultimate challenge for people, use these mods to make the game super, super hard.
I didn't make these mods, I found them and am using them myself.

They make Skyrim a better game, unless you want a easy game where once you hit level X you pretty much auto-win.

Combine a bunch of mods that increase difficulty and it makes the game harder? That sound you just heard was my jaw slamming into the ground comically.

The point is to overhaul the game into something really, really hard where you feel like you're just one man/woman vs impossible odds, which is why I also use UFO, so I can have a band of followers. My Skyrim experience is more akin to Mel Gibson leading his Scottish rebellion vs the English with a healthy side of Dragons and magic.

Why not add other things like Frostfall and Complex Needs?

ACE Combat is nice as well. Though I personally use all of these mods and they are not for RP characters or happy funtime gimmick characters. I had to make a new character and after about 3 dungeons his one handed was at 72. Basically hordes of enemies that can kill you as easily as you can kill them.

I spend about my entire playtime recreating the battle of Thermopolis. Narrow hallways are your friend

Sounds like you would really love Dragon Age Origins.

To me it sounds more like he'd love Mount & Blade: Warband.
Except it doesn't have dragons or magic.
