The Spark of Skyrim is gone..for me

Post » Sat Feb 23, 2013 2:52 am

So when Skyrim first released I LOVED it I played about 72 hours on my first playthrough then did it all over again with a different race but then out of nowhere I found myself not playing Skyrim and playing other games.I want the spark that Skyrim had to be back in my gut. Ive been playing New Vegas and FO3 and am loving those again but I recently just went back (or tried) to go back to Skyrim but its just not there for me..I wish it was and I hope some of you can give me some advise on how to get the spark back and my nostalgic juices flowing

Cheers

I walked away from the game less then a month after it was released and only just got back into it at the end of January.

The beauty about RPGs is you can let interest wax and wane, the story will still be there for you when the urge to play strikes.

If the mods that add new stories and characters are not an option, then roleplaying is the key in these situations. Make up and roleplay someone distinct from what you've done before, for instance an archaeologist, a cartographer, a peaceful trader, a seductress serial killer :D

Do random stuff, do not repeat the same patterns as you step out of Helgen. Very nasty habit that kills replayability and ultimately kills the fun when you find yourself doing the same quests over and over again. Be a wandering mercenary, pick up bounties from local inns, step inside forts and caves as you come across them even if there's no quest that tells you to go there.
