I've just startet a nord Stormcloak character, and really want to use the Stormcloak Officer Armor later in the game. I therefore figured out that it probably would be smart to use some of my perks on Light Armor (I'm on lvl 11, and hasn't used any of them yet). My only concern is that the Stormcloak Officer Boots are affected by Heavy Armor skill and perks, which makes the set bonus useless. But won't this affect nearly every perk on the Light Armor perk tree? Would it be best just to go with Heavy Armor and the Steed Stone?

On the heavy armor perk tree their is a perma Seed Stone perk.

Most of the suit is light, so it's probably best to stick with that.

If you can get above the armor cap (567), you'll be fine.
