The Sweetroll

Post » Mon Oct 26, 2009 2:25 am

So, as we should all know, maybe, two interesting things from The Elder Scrolls of years past have been the Sweetroll and Rat Quest.

My question to you is: How do you want to see the Sweetroll and Rat Quest approached?

I would personally like to see the two combined, with you saving a female Dark Elf's Sweetroll from a pack of vicious rats.

I remember the rat ladies, but the sweetroll's not ringing any bells.

Saaaaa-weet roll!

It's involved in CharGen, mwals. You actually see the Sweet Roll scenario in Fallout 3's CharGen sequences, where Butch tries to take it from you.

I like the OP's idea a lot. I'd think that would be a great way to continue the joke.

I'd love to see the Sweetroll scenario actually be the introduction/tutorial for Skyrim. Now that would be kicking things off with a bang.

I know the sweetroll question was in Daggerfall, but I don't know if it was in Arena.

Sweetrolls were in Morrowind and Fallout 3 to my knowledge. I am hoping it's in Skyrim too, just as a subtle reference to the past and a continuation of the joke.
Also, I would like to see a rat quest again too. :P always a fun way for the noobs to learn :read:

I want to slay a Nordic Cave-Bear, stumble half-dead through the piled-bones to the back of it's lair to open an ancient sarcophagus and/ or chest, and find only a sweetroll inside.

I was elated to see the sweetroll make an appearance as an actual item in Oblivion (an ingredient)!!! I hope it returns in Skyrim as an in-game object, and also somehow in character generation. And the rat quests? What is an Elder Scrolls game without rats? And pillows too. Bring back pillows!!!!!!!

The first step in the main quest should be to buy a sweetroll and bring it back to the first NPC you meet (ie, the person starting the main quest)

The rat quest should be rats hiring you to take care of a hysterical Dunmer woman.

The alchemy tutorial should be gathering up and mixing all of the ingredients to create a sweetroll.

Totally. With a little oven.

What about a quest where you have to lure the rats out of a pillow fort with sweet rolls?

I say why not keep the tradition going strong, and hopefully its done in a creative way!

It was in Arena, and Oblivion had Salmo the Baker, despite lacking the question.
