You got the anology wrong. The Stormcloaks are the Third Reich, the Empire is the Galactic Empire from Star Wars and the Thalmor would be Sauron. With enough time, the thread will derrail into discussing WW II, trust me.

What in the world? Stormcloaks are German? Since when?

The stormcloaks are based off of the Vikings or Scandinavians.

If anything I would guess the Thalmor are french. They kinda remind me of really really tall Napoleons.
