Is the title "Ysmir" a reference to the Swedish king

After doing some reading in the TES Wiki and UESP, I found out that Talos is also called Ysmir. The title Ysmir apparently means "The Dragon of the North", and this sounded awfully familiar somehow. After doing some thinking, I remembered where I had heard it before.

You are probably not familiar with any Swedish history (besides Vikings), but you are maybe familiar with the fact that there once was a Swedish Empire. This empire was founded by the warrior-king Gustav II Adolf (a.k.a. Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden). (more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustavus_Adolphus_of_Sweden )

The reason why Talos made me think of him was because Gustavus Adolphus was called "The Lion of the North" among other European leaders.

Now, I'm not saying that Talos is based on Gustav II Adolf or anything, I'm just asking if it is possible that the title "Ysmir" is based of what others called Gustav II Adolf (The Lion of the North)?

Talos and Gustav II Adolf do have one other thing in common though: They were both warrior-kings who were raised in the north and later founded an empire.

Maybe Bethesda saw the similarities after they had invented the history of Talos and just made a reference to Gustav II Adolf, or maybe they even knew about him since before?

What do you think?

I'm willing to bet that the writer who came up with the name Ysmir knows very little about Swedish history, and even less that's particularly inspiring about it where Tamriel is concerned.

Fiction and history are full of Empire builders, and "______ of the north" is an incredibly generic appellation.

The main significance of Ysmir is that he is seen as a dragon. The north part is a no-brainer.

This way, a Hroldur, the drunken horker of the north can also be a reference to a Gustav Adolf. :frog:

Too Historical. Talos is half un-true, remember.

To the Helens, Talos is the Numidium.

Siege of Alinor in reverse.

But let me not beat a dead horse.
