The Unofficial Cute Things Your Pets Do Thread

Post » Sun Jul 21, 2013 7:17 pm

So basically, life is a big stressful ball for all of us, or we just in general like nice and happy things. I think most of us here like to gush about things our pets or other peoples' pets or animals that we known or have seen/researched have done that are cute. I also noticed in the bed thread that there were a few people sharing things with their pets involving their beds and such (guilty).

Post a picture, share a video, tell a story, see who else's pet does this or that, and in general, use this thread as a nice happiness meter filler. Here, you don't have to worry about driving a topic off-topic or being annoying to others.

Of course, discussion is encouraged; I'm sure a lot of us here share pet types or someone has a pet the other has been wondering is a good pet, etc.

I'd start but I have a ton, so I'll have to narrow it down a bit.

I've got one that does that. It makes my cold, stone heart just melt.

My three legged chihuahua likes to follow me around the house. Because of her fuzziness and her three leggedness, she hops around everywhere like a little rabbit. When I'm in the kitchen, she'll peek at me from the hallway until I call her in. Kinda like http://i.imgur.com/wOIEBCx.jpg, but she's usually actually looking at us.

(Also guilty)

I have two cats (well, three if you count my dog. :P), and they're both (all) pathetic. Well, I shouldn't say that; they do keep the rodents down. Though when they do kill a rat, squirrel, etc., they leave it on my front door step as some kind of offering: "There! I did something for you! Now please let me in!" :P

Other annoying habits include excessive kneading and waking me up in the middle of the night by jumping on my desk. :P But, they're awesome cats; they'll actually sit on your chest and sleep there for about half an hour if you don't move. :)

My cat has a perpetual grumpy face if that counts.

My cats have a perpetual pleading look. Especially when they're sitting in front of their dish. :)

Though they also have a grumpy face sometimes, although I associate it more to exhaustion than actual boredom.

It counts, haha. I've got a dog named MIssy who has this perpetually miserable/scared/worried look on her face. I've had lots of friends tell me she looks unhappy, until they realize that's her all-purpose expression. She'll have that face while wagging her tail, waiting to be fed and such. She also seemed to be madly in love with my three-legged one's late sister. They would trot around together, get into fights, make love, etc. She would also be known to literally [censored]slap Doodle (her girlfriend) if she took too long coming into the house from the yard, ha. Cutest couple. <3

We have a Maine coon cat and a French angora rabbit, so lots of fluffies. They mostly ignore eachother, and are generally civil otherwise. This being said, I wish I had a camera the time our cat wandered into the rabbit's hutch to eat some hay, his expression of utter bewilderment was priceless.

I have a cat named Dmitry; he's an authoritarian communist so he doesn't have many cat friends. He's the cutest thing in the company of us humans, but once he goes outside he is determined to guard his territory, which leads to him beating up other cats who just wants to befriend him.

Wait, that's not very cute, is it...

I could go on about all the cute things my cat does, so it's very painful to come up with specific things! I suppose I'll edit this post for later when I've cleared my head.

Something I'd like to call playing food, he'll go over to his food and gives you this playful look and when you go over and lay down and take his food all he'll do is lay down with cheek to cheek and growls or makes a playful whimpering type sound---and that's it (just don't do this with his bone, he let's you know he's serious and not playing around).

Another thing he does is if I'm laying on my back he'll come and lay his head across my neck ^_^.

I've got a little Pekingneze named Gigi and whenever I get home from being gone for a few hours she rolls over and paws the air at me trying to get me to rub her.
